The only reason the battery case could cause problems is not having a small enough screwdriver realistically..

blueoakleyz

i'm starting to have doubts now :(
i just got this beautiful blue DS and now I'm gonna void the warranty
on the other hand Nintendo systems never fail me

Blight

this is utter rubbish...

let's see, ah

1. if you install flashme correctly there is NO possibility of firmware damage at all. all the data required to bring your ds back to life will be written in the write protected section of the ds. so even if nintendo came with an official firmware eraser, you will be safe.
2. your supercard's firmware can be erased and you will need another backup device(like another working supercard or and gbamp) to recover it using darkfaders mpflash utility.
3. if you brick your ds you can't return it to the store. all the stores have to send the broken ds to nintendo and if it's bricked, which they will know, they will just send it back with a bill attached.
4. I don't know if the uninstall utility of flashme restores the original firmware or if it just writes an unflashed firmware to the ds. I'm personally trying to find a way to backup my firmware completly. you can use dslinux or darkfaders firmwaredump utility to dump the firmware but I don't know a way to write it back to the ds. maybe I should ask Loopy.

edit: And about the warrenty, the sticker could have been accedentaly removed, in fact I returned a ds with a broken speaker to nintendo which was missing the sticker but I didn't flash it. they gave me a new ds.
