Try defining a new output directory; this usually fixes the pb for me, dunno what causes it...

There are 3 reasons on why you get that error:

1.- The output dir does not exist, or it's not accessible.
2.- You selected a compressed ROM and the patcher didn't handle it correctly.
3.- If the temporal disk is full
