Yes, a japanese DS would work fine with a european power adapter.

All DS hardware for all regions is identical (even the firmware is the same, the only difference is the default language set). The power adapter just changes the AC current from the current region into the correct voltage DC current for the DS.

I was told by the chick who sold me the DS that its OK to use GBA SP charger for the DS. I've been using it interchangably and so far I don't see any issues with that. But please its at your own risk ok?

I used a ds charger with my gba and it works so i'd assume it works both ways

I bought my DS in Japan.
I'm using my old GBA SP charger with it since, and all is going well.
I assume charger are exactly the same for both.
Car charger for SP should work just fine.

the GBA SP charger is the same thing as the DS charger (same output)
