Supercard Question: Maximum SD Capacity?

Hi,

I just bought a Nintendo DS, no less than 4 days ago, and the main reason I bought it was to modify it, of course. I've also looked around for the price(s) on which I'd get the Superpass 2 + Supercard SD for, and most of the time, it figures out to $65.

Now, I know I have to get the Superpass 2, no questions on that, but, what I'm curious about is what the maximum capaicty of the Supercard SD is...

Some stores say 1GB, others say 16GB. Are there two different Supercard SD's? Or, is there firmware involved here?

Thanks!

Also, some sites are also saying that the Supercard does not have a miximum capacity, but it only limited to the capacity on the SD card.

The maximum capacity of the supercard is 4 GB (Gygabytes) that means a 32 Gb (Gygabits) card. What's the diff? Games are usually measured in Mb (Megabits) because that's how they are programed to the chips. In a computer ROM images are stored in bytes, that's why you read that the NDs carts are up to 1 Gb but you can't find a ROM image bigger than 128 MB (megabytes)
Anyway, the way to convert is to multiply the number for 8 (128 MB SD = 1024 Mbits )
In order to support that, you have to make a special format to the SD (or CF) and that is discussed in other topic.

Em..what?...

Now I'm totally confused...

So, the size of the SD card has nothing to do with how many games you can fit in it, besides how many "Gbit"s it can store?...

So, looking at this list, http://www.dualscene.net/djoen/supercardlist/data.php , Bleach DS says, "1 Gbit" for the size, yet the rom is only around 100MB..

If I have a 128 MB card, does this mean that only that game will fit, and that if I have another game, say Yoshi Touch and Go which is only 13 MB, I won't be able to store it because it's "128Gbit", and therefore making it 1152 Gbits?

Thanks...

trust me Bleach DS is one of the biggest Ds games 2 date but its not even close to 1Gigabyte u will probably be only able to have bleach on your card however

But, was what I said right?...

Also, if I was right, does it mean that I can only fit two Guru Guru Nagetto(s) even though their only about 15MB per rom, but the size is "512Mbit"?

Thanks.

like karurosu said, bits and bytes are different. 8 bits are equal to 1 byte, so whatever the game says it is, divide it by 8 to get it in terms of bytes so bleach 1024mbits = 128mb.... so all u need is a 128 mb card to play bleach.

all you need is a 128 MB card not 128mb
1024 mb is 1 gigb

ok heres the deal FORGET the BITS and stay with bytes (kilo, mega, giga, tera, etc) if you have a 128MEGABYTE card you can fit one hundred twenty-eight megabytes of stuff on it.
you can pack it to the brim with games and play them all.
4GIGABYTES is the max for supercard to read i believe just forget everything else...

Koji

4 Gigabytes is the max, but a LOT of people haven't been able to get the 4 gig cards to work correctly. I'd say the truly maximum you should try is 2 gigs. If you honestly need more storage then that, just grab 2 2 gigs.

Awesome Info. Thanks, really helped me :)

Is there any compatibility list so that I may find a 4GB card?

Thanks :)
