My son dropped my DS today while I was at work. The DS still works with a regular game kart in it, but the SC will not recognize my CF any longer. I tested the CF card by putting it in my card reader and transfering some files to it and it works fine.

When I boot up the DS the SC message comes up and says ""not find the CF Please turn off GBA". Anything I can do or do I need to buy a new SC? Thanks  :)

Hmm that *****

Do you know someone who has a sc to?
Maybe try that one in your ds.
If it works you need a new sc.
If it doesn't you need a new ds.
Or maybe both are broke.

good luck!

Do some tests.
But it seems that your SC was physically damaged and connectors won't work anymore.

the CF components are the most fragile of all components in the supercard. if you had a cf card in the supercard when it fell it will most likely be broken but the NOT FIND CF error can be caused by a load of different things.
what I would try is not a new supercard in your ds but your supercard in another gba/nds.
and try another CF card in the supercard that fixed one of my NOT FIND CF errors.
usb cf card readers are highly adaptive, a few bad sectors will be shut down just fine but the supercard isn't that good at doing that.
if another cf card in another system doesnt work it's busted, you can crack open the case and fiddle with the cf card connector, but the case is glued so your gonna have a problem with that.

Thanks for the help fellas. I tried my CS in my brothers DS and it has the same error. I will open it up and mess with it then if it is a no go I'll just order a new one.

Thanks again for the advice.

I got in touch with the company I purchased the SC from and they are going to exchange it for me. all I have to do is pay the shipping for it to get to them.

When my boy dropped the DS the right plastic hinge that holds the top screen on also snapped off. I took it back to Wallmart and exchanged it for a new one. Told them I dropped it and this cheap little plastic hinge broke. Explained that I wasn't happy with the quality as it should be assumed that kids will drop them from time to time - they gave me a brand new one = }

eh, kompact don't mess with nintendo k?
they OWN
crash test comparison with the PSP: "When we dropped the DS from 1 meter on a solid rock tile floor there was only a crack in the case and the top screen lighting stopped working, the PSP however broke cleanly in two. only hanging together by the ripped display cable"
nintendo probably made it of plastic to save weight or something.

Nintendo stuff is most of the time good stuf.
Remember the 8bit controllers. We still have them and no cracks or anything.
How many time I have smashed them because I lost the game....I wont smash my DS :D don't worry.

I saw a video of people who tested the Xbox, PS2 and the Gamecube.
Xbox was the first one who gave up after smashing it. After that PS2 lost and yeps Gamecube wins after the beating up, hanging from a rope behind a car and some other test :)

It was a fun video to see  :D

Honestly though, how many times have you dropped a console from a 2 story building <_<. GCN was purposefully small and had a handle on it because they expected people to take it with them on trips or when they go to their friends or something so they purposefully made it where it could take a few good hits.
