Well, that button press thing in the beta is gone now...

Just a note, if you want to change the skin, you just need to put the bmp and skin.ini into the shell folder that is generated (found this out the hard way)

Wow this new update is awsome, looks like it will be a little harder to skin, but its realy cool how you can have a background on the top screen. Does anyone else have the problem with the files not being on the root directory and using the origional skin?

I dont get it:
How do i change the upper and lower background and the startup sound(and use e.g.a 2.1mb file)?

Mithos

In the shell-folder.

desktop.bmp = background on lower screen.
startup.mp3 = startup sound...

First thing to do... delete all previous versions of moonshell. Absolutely make .99 is all by itself.

Now.. go to setupdata/files/shell. That's where the startup MP3 and .BMP are. Replace them as you like. Then use the setup.

If you don't want to search all those folders, simply install it to your SC/CF card then replace the .bmp in /shell on your SD/CF card.

Therion

copy all files in SkinSample into shell folder
desktop.bmp for lower screen background
startup.mp3 for startup sound
c_file.bmp for upper screen folders/files list background
c_text.bmp for text viewer background
client.bmp for help/about background

run setup.exe to generate a _BOOT_MP_SC.nds,put .nds file and shell folder into your SD card root.

There is only 1 shellfolder when you unzip Moonshell 0.99.

It's in SetupData/files/shell

Wow... you don't even need to recompile the .nds file to change settings...

vallich

Finally i get it to working. Thanx to everyone

Just run setup.exe first then do the customizing in the shell folder it makes.

QuoteJust a note, if you want to change the skin, you just need to put the bmp and skin.ini into the shell folder that is generated (found this out the hard way)

As I said, I tried changing stuff in the origional shell folder, and it didnt take (it doesnt copy over a bunch of the stuff, like skin.ini when you mod the default shell folder). So I started again and just used setup.exe (did not use exfs in the dropdown) and when it generated the ROM and shell folder, that is where I did the customizing (wrather than messing around with the default files, which are likely going to be built into the setup.exe in time anyway)

Also, to see whats more is added with the skins, generate the file with setup.exe, and drop all the files from the skinsample directory into the generated shell directory on your CF/SD card ;)

Hey Guys, Im having a bit of a problem. I got the Moonshell 0.99 working on my SC SD but if i try to play a movie, i don't hear any sound?
I have encoded the movies with the DPGENC that comes with 0.99...
However if I encode them with an older version of DPGENC it does have sound, but hte quality of the movie sucks... Does anybody know how to fix the sound????
