A lot of games nowdays are really long and reqiure a lot of gametime, do you feel as safe with the SC as you would a real cartridge?

Safe that my save file won't be lost? Certainly. It's never happened to be before and you can always back up your saves easily.

NDS = 100% as safe
GBA = 75% as I have had problems with one game, but it was clear from the begining that the game had an issue.

Depends on the game, NDS games i feel complelty and utterly safe, gba games i normally use real time save for but if the game cant support it, im a little shakey with gba saving

I never used the SC for GBA gaming, but I feel perfectly safe using it for my DS gaming.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

o_O What do you mean by safe? I don't fear the bricker if that's what you're asking. I don't fear losing my saves (never have lost a single one). I don't fear losing my roms and I don't fear using supercard patcher or anything like that.

My Mario Kart DS cart did get a "Savegame corrupt" the other day so 100% safe you are not even on original carts.

Thank good for Rain so I could put back a 1day older savegame on it.

I feel really safe, because I backup my savegames every 2 or 3 days, and in that way if some kid or friend (read game illiterate) erases my save, I can always restore it :)

I had the exact same problem with MKDS.  Many thanks to cory1492 for his work on Rain!

I have had several real (4) GBA carts corrupt my data.  Since the supercard stores the data on the SD card and I can back it up at any time, I feel much safer with it.
