Two white screens on bootup... what is next?

Okay, I can now get two white screens if I boot with my EZPass2 and my original DS game and NO supercard.

So now, after I put in my supercard how do i get the supercard logo/GUI to come up?

- I have tried holding down x y a b buttons on startup

- I have tried holding down START SELECT a b buttons on startup

- I have tried holding down START SELECT  L R buttons on startup

- I have tried loading my DSgame.GBA file to put it in SRAM (writing success message appears) and inserting my EZPass2 with my DS card and then rebooting fast about 50 times.

- I have tried running the flashme.nds.gba but it just gives me one white screen on top and i never see the SRAM written message.

Please any advice?  I think I am close now because the EZPass2 card is now at least doing something!

Please and Thanks!

You need to do the SRAM loading thing and reboot then insert the passme2 - no key combos needed. You should have flashme on your supercard if you want to install it but don't run it in GBA mode.... needs to be run from NDS mode.  I suspect that, as suggested in another thread.. either your EZPass2 doesn't work with older firmwares ( unlikely but certainly possible I suppose ) or its broken perhaps. Have you double checked what game it was programmed for?

Thanks for the reply ratx.  Yes i've double checked the flashed JED file.  No game files do anything at all, only the ezpass.jed file seems to do anything (gives me white screens).  I have never been able to get to the supercard logo screen, so the flashme has never had a chance to run.

I'm pretty convinced the problem is the JED file on the EZPass2 now. The supercard setup is too simple to screw up. I've hacked Playstations, Xboxes, and PSPs, and they were all a bit more challenging than this. The fact that i'm getting two white screens now with the original ezflash.jed and no changes with the AD2J-0.gba makes me think that it is definitely the issue. Nothing happens with the new JED files, but the old one kinda works, but not enough to actually bypass the NDS bootup completely.

I used google translate on the Chinese FAQ part of the EZPass2 page, and it says that "EZPass2 is Passme2 grow, it is only suitable for new NDS, if your NDS is old, only must purchase EZPass or Passme mays then."

Seems this is poor English for "EZPass1 is only for old NDS and the EZPass2 is only for new NDS."

It does seem to make sense for why i'm having so much trouble with this. I have not found any good resources for making sure the EZPass2 is configured to run as an EZPass1. I am only assuming the ezpass.jed is for this purpose.

Yes that assumption would seem correct. If you're 100% sure you have an old firmware DS that should certainly work which again points to more evidence of it being a problem with the passme hardware...
