well...I am just wondering how you guys rename those roms you guys downloaded. This is the way I tried, but it wouldn"t work. Before I patch the roms, I extract all the files to a certain category and then I rename it. After I patch the rom I just rename, I put it into the CF. But when I try normal or real time save, the card isn"t able to detect the sci and the sav. If I don"t rename and just leave as it is, it will work.

Diablo

You say you extract all the files.  There should onle be one file, the ROM, which is a .gba file.

So your save files and ROM share the same name?  And you're copying the .gba, .sci, and .sav files to the CF?

Yes exactly...Could you help please Diablo?

Diablo

Have you tried using the save files in the Saves Package that is in the Much faster Supercard software mirror?  How far are the ROMs nested on your CF (how many folders within folders)?  Can you provide some examples of the original ROM names, and the way you renamed them?

That's alright...everything is great. I can rename those roms right now, thanks!

Anyway, this is another question I am concerned about:
1)Since 512mb CF can be stored as many as 75 or more roms, my 512mb can only be stored or saved 43 roms. And then whenever I try to put more roms in the card, it just said "CAN'T CREATE THIS FILE" and then I delete some of the roms, it just work fine. My question is how come my 512mb CF can only be saved or stored 43 roms. I expect it to be able to save at least 70 roms.

So how was your problem solved?

As for ROMs, it depends on their size.  GBA ROMs come in 4 different sizes:  4MB (32Mb), 8MB (64Mb), 16MB (128Mb), and 32MB (256Mb).  Therefore, you can fit around 128 4MB (32Mb) ROMs, 64 8MB (64Mb) ROMs, 32 16MB (128Mb) ROMs, or 16 32MB (256Mb) ROMs on a 512MB CF card.  I say around, because a 512MB card is not quite 512MB, and you'll probably want to use up some of that space for saving your games, right?

You can see how much space your CF has used and how much it has free by right-clicking the drive letter of your CF reader in an Explorer window and selecting "Properties".

damn when I tried to look up the space or the memories of my CF, the PC just displayed a note stating that if you free your H-drive(which is the port where I extract all my roms to the CF, as you know), I could have 715mb. This is what I did before. Because your CF reader is what appears to be the new drive when you insert your CF reader into the USP port and the window will immediately recognize it. This is what happened before, I just ruined my CF reader by freeing spaces or rom in the CF reader drive, so I don't want to do this again. Anyway, do ya think it is worth a try?

Do you mean that you cannot add any more gba/sav files despite having enough space on your CF?

Exactly man! that's what I mean.

In that case, reformat your CF (in FAT of course) and create folders in the CF. Store your games, music, movies into the different folders instead of dumping everything in the same directory in the CF.

I did encounter this problem and solve it by using this method. Not to sure if it works for you though. FYI, I own a 512mb Kingston CF.

damn! The card is actually 512mb right? But when I tried to look it up, the PC actually showed me the card is 487mb...What's wrong with it?

Besides I only used 218mb for my games, and there are damn lots of memories remain. As you said WUDI, this is exactly what I have encountered. Anyway, I already format my CARD. In addition, I don't have anything to include in the card except the GBA ROMS. What's wrong with it?

The reason Windows reports the CFM as being smaller in capacity is because Windows measures drive space differently than media manufacturers.
