I am a newb, new to DS and to homebrew apps etc. Its alot of info to put together.

But what does it mean when people say the SD position and the SC position when speaking about slowdowns and compatablility?

If SD means the slot where official DS games go, does this mean you copy roms on a normal SD card and the ds will read it?

I honestly have no interest in the above but it leads me to my second question, does this mean that it is possible to load old school NES, SNES etc. roms from an SD card in the DS game slot? (the whole reason I bought a DS)

AnalogMan

When they say SD they're talking about the Supercard SD version in which the rom is on the SD card and read from there.

When they say SC, they mean the entire rom is loaded into the Supercards RAM so as to be read faster.

The supercard looks like a gba game cartrige.  SD cards are the flash cards that are used for some digital cameras.  The roms are put onto the sd card and then the sd card is inserted into the supercard which is then inserted into the gba slot.
