I finally decided to flash my DS.  I was trying to short the contact and was having a terrible time.  It took me 5 minutes to get to 1%.  That was with 3 different items (nail, small screwdriver, paperclip).  I was trying a thumbtack and got to 2% and that was it.  As I was fiddling around trying to short the contact I accidently hit the power button.  M...er F...er!  Turned the power back on and 2 black screens.  So, I'm assuming there is no way to fix this.

I have a silver DS I bought used at a gamestore.  I purchased the 6 month warranty and still have a month left.  I called and they said bring it in for exchange.  So, hopefully it will be the grey one and I can use my superpass 1 with it.

This really sucks.  What I would like to know is should it be that hard to bridge that F'n contact?  What is the best thing to use incase I have the balls to try it again with my replacement DS?

<edit>  Some Beach!  I was only at 2% and I tried holding down A+B+START+SELECT and powered on.  The screens were black I pressed A and freakin Feel The Magic booted up!  I did the restart to menu, went down to my flashme file, selected it and I was back at my 2%.  I finally found a small eyeglasses size screw driver and got it up to 100%.

What I want to know is how in the heck was I able to restart with the A,B,START,SELECT if I never got the flashme firmware on there in the first place?  My mind is boggled! Someone please explain?

I used a small flathead screwdriver.

I think the restore part of the code is the very first thing to be installed, incase it does go wrong like in your case.

I thought it had to get to like 5% or something, but whatever.

Lucky boy :P

Unfortunately, unlike the ball, people do not bounce.

I had problem with flashme too.
It flashed fine while flashing. It got 100% done with no problem.
But after flashed, the DS didn't turn on.
I tryed everything. But it still didn't turn on.
I called where I bought and they told me to bring it to store.
The problem was adaptor wasn't pluged in.
I should have checked it first.
