Hi can anybody tell me how I can get fmsxDS to play my Metal Gear 2 translated rom?

I downloaded the emulator and it has a Japanese readme.  I think it has supercard support because there is a fmsxDS_SC.nds file along with the fmsxDS.nds file.

I can't find any instructions on the web after an hour on google.  A link to the emulator is here http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/fmsxds.shtml

but the msx emulator boot in your SC? if do not, try to put the ndsloader.bin into it.

You need the msx bios roms. get here:

MSX2.ROM

MSX2EXT.ROM

Put these bios roms in your CF or SD root (the msx emulator can be put in any another folder), and create a folder for your commercial roms (try to separate the disks from catridges and tapes)

If you boot succefuly the emulator, you now only load the metal gear 2 and click in power button.

finished :P

Thats interesting... I got it to work before I read your post by putting all the files on my CF card.  When I booted the fmsxDS_SC.nds the MSX emulator booted and it had a ROM slot 1 along with other things on the bottom screen.  Inside the ROM slot 1 was my Metal Gear 2 rom along with the various MSX.ROM and MSX2.ROM files that I put on my CF card.  I selected the Metal Gear 2 file clicked the powere button and it worked!

Are you telling me that I can put these files into different folders on my CF card and make it boot right to the Metal Gear game?

Thanks for your help :)

yeah, you get it. but the msx2.rom and the msx2ext.rom must be in the root of your CF/SD card. it's a little dumb, but do not work in another way
