ROM save to same game actual cart: OK?

Hi guys,

Just a quick question. My wife has been playing Nintendogs (ROM) on my DS + SC, but now she wants a DS of her own. I'm going to buy another SC for her, but I'd also like to buy a copy of Nintendogs too. My question is, is there any way to transfer the save she's got now (on my SD card) to the Nintendogs cart? Of course the versions will be the same, etc - I just want to transfer the SD save to the actual game cart if possible.

Can it be done?

Just in case I wasn't clear, the point will be to continue her game using ONLY the cart, without having to mess with the SC every time she wants to play.

I know it's possible to save to the cart, selecting that option when you patch a game, but since we don't actually HAVE the cart yet, we used the 'save to SD' instead. If I re-patch the game, using the 'save to cart' option, and then use the current save instead of the new one that is generated, will that work?

Use Rain to copy the save to the actual cart.

Problem solved.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

So, if my save file is 256KB, that should be compatible with (or fit on) the Nintendogs game cart? I just don't want to mess anything up ...

Yes, all supercard sav files are 256KB = 2Mb eeprom size of Nintendogs.  Rain, will enable you to copy your data to the actual game eeprom.  Just make a backup of the sav file before you start experimenting.

In fact, for any extra assurance you might need (tho this was what, a month ago? =3), I've sent the save file back and forth between my cart and SD backup.

On a bad note, though, the legit copy takes longer to save than the SD backup. =(
