what programs do you use to convert your dvds directly into an avi or mpeg file? how do i make it end up at like around 700 MBytes so that i could put it on a cd? thanks

I installed Klite CODEC 2.71 FULL, but i have some doubts:


1) I INSTALLED the "DEFAULT" configuration is that good? Which is the recommended to be able to convert VOB files

2)It asked me to uninstall THE DIVX 3.11 before installing it, now i loosed that functionality, I CHEcked and its not more present in my codecs so ho can i do to not alterate my sistem codec settings and install only the ones required to convert vob files with dpgenc (wich ones i have to check)!!!?


3) PLEASE give a link to the LATEST and working Infantyle Paraluzer DPGENC , i don't remeber which is good the one with mmonshell 9 or other version please pass me the link or the program itself.

Sorry, I was experimenting with this back in Feb. so I don't remember what version I was using (9.X something).  Anyway, if someone else with more current experience doesn't answer, I'll post a step by step.

BTW you shouldn't need DIVX 3.11 : ) anymore, the newer DivX/XviD are downward compatible.  Also, look for a sample VOB without 5.1 DTS sound, or strip it out.

i use Bitripper (free and full version) to rip it off a DVD into AVI format. you will need a codec like Klite first though. very easy to setup as well

i am  finding it hard to transfer avi to .dpg i used the monshell one but i get a error saying unable to detect the total play time what do i do???

is their any other programs that can convert mpg, avi or WMA to .DPG???

I use a program called super. Its free.

It doesn't do dpg but I use it to convert vob to avi then to dpg

i assume that you are talking about dpgenc. There is also BatchDPG
