Quote from: "Koji"I still had my first generation GBA till I sold it to purchase a PS2 a couple months back. I don't expect to switch out my DS unless it breaks, and based on how well my GBA held up that won't be till ever.

I dunno, the screen alone justifies the expense ... ;)

Anyway this is great news - I really hope romman has already dumped the firmware and sent it to loopy for work on a new Flashme. The current FlashMe may work with the Lite, but by using it you will probably lose the backlight functionality, as the backlight is adjusted via the main menu (so, it's in the firmware) ...

I can't wait to get my Lite tomorrow!!!! :D

To some people it'll be worth it, but everyone told me the same thing when the SP came out. I still stuck by my first gen GBA till it was made obsolete by my DS. ^_^ I'm expecting the same thing here.

Deadmon

The Micro style d-pad is alone worth getting the Lite. :P

*prays for a May 7th release for NA*

That's cool. I guess I use my DS differently than some people, but I know that I HATE the display on my DS now - on the train it's virtually impossible to see, too much glare ... When I play games at home it's just fine, but the whole reason I bought it was to make my commute less of a pain in the ass, and it doesn't work too well for that - it's just not bright enough and there's far too much glare ... The Lite should take care of that, I think ... :D

Same thing Mavis, I can barely see my DS screen in the bus home, which takes an hour and a half and by the time I'm home I have terrible eye strain

same for me.  i end up only playing my micro when i'm outside... sometimes psp.  DS ends up just being used at home, or at work when i'm on a break..

I'll be getting a DS Lite, once someone (preferably from this community) confirms that flashme works.  I guess using passme2 wouldn't be that bad, but i prefer flashme.

Damn, that backlight is bright as hell. I wonder if they'll start putting the new screens into the old model DS. I dont like the Lite  :?
