Couldn't the Supercard people make the Supercard smaller, but still using SD cards? How big is the Play-Yan?

You can buy the miniSD socket in a parts shop.

I need a smaller SC in order to use it on DS Lite, because the SC will be more sticking out of a DS Lite than of a nomal DS, as you know. :?

If you want to use miniSD card on PlayYan instead of SD card, you can do that as follows;

You can swap the miniSD card without removing the PlayYan from your DS!  :lol:

is their a website I can get the mini sd socket from? Ive been searching everywhere and their is nothing I can find.

rocky

My spring on my supercard SD broke so I need a new one, where do you get this case thing to sodder in to the supecard? I need one fast, or I might just return my supercard.

Koji

I don't see why people are having so much probems finding these sockets. Honestly, I've yet to see a miniSD sold without an adapter, and it's usually the same price (best buy has 512MB miniSDs with adapter for $50, which is the same they charge with full size ones)

rocky

Oh is it just a converter you are talking about, the one you get with the SDmini so you can put it in a sd slot? I thougt it was one like installed in the supercard with a spring.

rocky

I dont think that is a converter it looks like a case with a spring or something,  I still havent been able to find one.

Edit: Is this the one your talking about?

will this one work?

and also do I just sodder in the adapter like in that picture? and with a 15 to 30 watt Iron?

@koji

The purpose of this adaptation from SD to miniSD is to be able to swap the memory card at the FRONT side.  8)

@rocky

Take it easy, please!  :o

rocky

yea but can you please answer me. is this the thing you used or ist it an adapter made for mini. it dosnt look like a adaptor. :?

nori2nori

@rocky

All the miniSD cards with an SD converter that are able to work on SC sould work in minSD socket on SD too.  You can use a general miniSD socket for this purpose as follows;

I recommend that you use 30W iron to swap the socket.

ok normaly i would say MiniSD? damn shit ... SD is small enough thats all just to make money and that works fine with poeple who wants to pay 10â,¬ more for some mm. But in that case its cool. i make homebrew to and i am at a point on which emualtor doesnt help any more (supercard fileacces). so i have to swap all the time and i am realy thinking of to do that too. hehe but with minisd i dont want that sticking out when i got my nds with me... damn i see it bricking... but first i have to build a USB device for nds...Never saw? http://natrium42.com/projects/serial.html damn then i can add good support for my little windowz like os... think about a usb hub with a keyboard extern-hdd mouse........endless floating ideas in brain

@Payk

OKOK, SD card may be best choice for you, but in the near future, GBAlpha will release new M3 the size of which is just a GBA cartridge.  :(

However, SC for NDSL may be designed if microSD card is available as follows; :o

I'm off subject here, but Payk you should check out using WiFiMe for homebrew development.  Just imagine at the end of your project build a batch file automatically beams your program to your DS for testing.  Works great for me.
