I just recently discovered this freeware gem of a massively-mulitplayer online adventure game.  I highly suggest you take a look at it if you haven't already.

I stopped when they put the new weapons and stuff for a price. =|

I played it also to the level where you need to pay for further upgrades. Seems cool in the beginning but gets ignoring very fast.
