I've search this forum but seems no one asking/giving information bout this
so here i am asking bout this tool

actually i really interested w/ this stuff
you can Mod it by yourself or buying from 3rd party tools maker

like they sell it here: http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/nintendo_ds.php
n even there's a All-in-1 Tool (for NDS/GBA/iPOD/PDA)
here: http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecmac/shop/detail~dpno~499498.asp

Question:
1. is it safe to use (I mean is bout Voltage n stuff like that)
2. How long to charge it? (usually when i charge w/ my charger it takes 4 Hour)

anyone know?  :?:

robo

I don't get what you mean about modding it, after all it is only a charger. I'm sure it would be perfectly safe to use such a charger as the one from netpcdirect. Never seen that all-in-1 thing before so I couldnt tell you in that case.

I think he means the voltage from USB will be lesser than the voltage from the power plug.

NT

I've been using one for at least a year.  It works well.  It probably takes about 4-5 hours to charge up the DS.

*checked your second link*  Ouch!  230$ for a stupid usb printer cable :P  I'm pretty sure that price is an error haha

Actually, the 5v line (Technically, can be anywhere from 4.75 to 5.5v) on a USB plug should be well within the tolerances for the battery charger.  (remember, that although the wall outlet will be 110/220v AC, the adapter would still convert this into the lower DC voltage used by the device)

After my 3rd part DS adapter (110/220V-5.2V) broke I just cut the remain cable from my broken adapter and soldered USB connector to the other side. So I made simplest NDS USB charger. It works and my battery is still in good condition.

I got one from a friend a while back and it's worked like a charm, so I wouldn't be afraid to use this product at all.

'Pouches' are so expensive. I'd rather just a velvet bag.

SAV2880

Perhaps cheaper, but that niche stuff is pretty darn sweet for the fanboys of the particular games.

i use the USB charger cables for my DS, micro, and SP.. they work great, and save me having to carry AC adapters back and forth to work. :)

Sneef, where can you get a somewhat affordable GB Micro USB cable?

sneef

i got mine from play-asia.com, for less than 5 dollars, and since i was already ordering some screen protectors and other stuff, the shipping was cheap...

The main reason i got the micro usb charger was because i bought my micro in the U.S, but i travel back and forth to singapore and the U.S. AC adapter was only for 110V and i didnt' wanna mess with using a step-up transformer.

but it was so neat that i got one for my DS too.. worth every penny, and more...

the item are in my hand now  8)

i buy it from local distributor
the price is $8 (Rp. 75.000)

but more important ... contain w/ Car Charger + It can charge GBA Micro but i dont have micro :P
working fine from my USB HUB... :D
