Sorry to bug you but I have a couple of questions about the SuperCardSD and I wondered if you might be able to help me?

I am new to these forums and to the DS itself (I just bought it second hand from a friend) so please forgive me if my questions sound a little bizare. :)

Here goes...

I found a ROM to download, converted it using the scsdcv25 software and then placed it on an SD card but unfortunately the DS went white when I tried to play it.  I had a copy of MarioKart in the DS when I tried to run the game - which I belive I need.

I know I must be doing something wrong but after consulting a number of websites I still can't seem to figure it out.  Could I be using a bad ROM or do you think I am doing something wrong?  I even updated the firmware of the DS to sd_160 to no avail. :(

Sorry to bug you but I have no idea what I am doing. :(

Thanks for your help. :)

You need a Superpass (1 for older DS; 2 for newer) plugged into the DS cartridge slot to get the DS to run DS code from the Supercard.

My advice to you is read, read, read.  Read all the stickies in all the forums and do searches on superpass and flashme.  Everything you need to know is here and already posted.  I also like:

Thanks Steve,

I appreciate your fast response.  I read many of the stickies and looked at the link that you included but unfortunately I am still non the wiser.

The person who I bought the DS from had already set up the DS with everything that was needed - apparently.  All he told me to do was to insert an SD card, complete with games and it should work.  Does this make sense?

I am very sorry to pester you.

Was the seller sure? You might want to ask again in regards to the SP stuff.

And also some games are still buggy, but I don't think that's it.

While you're there, you might want to try a standard GBA game too.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

When you boot the DS with the Supercard inserted, do you see the Supercard DS logo on the bottom screen, or do you see the Game Boy logo before the SC menu?
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

jimjagger

Yeah.  I can see the Supercard DS logo on the bottom screen and the games lists on the top screen but unfortunately they both go white when I try to run one.

Does this make sense?

Thanks for all your help.  It's very much appreciated! :)

unfortunatly the white screens is like the windows blue sceen.
it indicates an error but you don't know what it is.

If you have updated your firmware to 1.60 then ensure you are using the correct patching software.

SuperCard SD SoftwareV2.51 (2006.1.23 update)

Also ensure that the files your patching are clean dumps as opposed to the nuked releases from GST.

Thanks for everyone's help.  The problem turned out to be a problem with the ROMs themselves.  I tried downloading a ROM from a different location and ran it through the software and it worked perfectly!

Thank you for all you help.  The DS ROCKS! :)

Glad that you got it to work.
