Wsup,

A friend of mine just bought a brand new Blue DS (original Firmware!). So we turn it on, and get the First time user settings wizzard. We do everything just like i did with mine. We are done filling in all the crap and the DS says it has saved all the things and has to shutdown to apply these settings.

So we tap OK ,and the system shuts down. Then we turn it on again, and we don't come in to the menu,but in the First Time User Setting wizzard again. This happens time and time over again, so we can't get further with this DS. (battery stats are okay .Metroid prime hunters in NDS slot,GBA is empty.)

Does anyone know, how to get around the this infinite loop
And skip the wizzard so we can get in to the Menu?!?!?!

Please help us out!

If it's brand new, I'd just return it immediately from where I bought it.

Yeah it seems brand new, its fresh out of the box. But he did not buy it in store.

So The question is, how can i try to reflash the thing or get around the wizzard.

or even better ,how can i get the darn thing to save the settings so it acts normal?!

It sounds screwey to me...

If it's blue, it's surely under warranty still... I sent mine back, no receipt, etc.  They're pretty cool about it.

maybe its been flased wrong at the factory
to save ur shipping costs a simple passme and homebrew firmware may do the trick

yep , he wants flash me on it anyways.
But if i can't get around the wizzard, then i cannot flash the NDS again.
OR at least , i don't know how to.

So if anyone can tell me how i can flash this DS with Flash Me in this state, please tell me

Nobody knows what you've figured out by yourself.  If you don't want help, don't ask.

Is the battery firmly seated?  Open the battery door with a screwdriver and remove and replace the battery.  Without the battery, the settings are lost, so if there is bad contact with the battery, the settings will never get stored.

I tried that. I put my battery in his DS and that had no effect. Only thing i got from that is that is had to set my DS again , his DS is still repeating the wizzard.

And the wizzard locks up at step 3 , 3 out of 10 times .
This is really weird.

@ Socket: You could have known ,cause that is procedure for this kind of shit. All i was doing was trying to prevent people from posting 12031239801 same type of messages. Sorry i hurt ya feelings dawg...

Put a passme in it and start it, since pass me overrides the boot process (maybe?)  if anything, hold the buttons to boot it into nds mode :?:  all i know to recommend.

You didn't hurt my feelings, you pissed me off for a second.  Just because it doesn't solve your problem the way you want it to be solved doesn't mean it is not a solution.  A lot of people come here as complete beginners.  I know I did, and I did not realize that sending it to big N was a solution until my speakers stopped working and I asked around.  I bought it used, from ebay... I was shocked that the guy I spoke with told me it was fine that I didn't have proof of purchase.

It's obviously fucked up.  2 very valid solutions are to
A)Take it back to the store (which you can't or won't), or
B) send it to Nintendo (which you won't).

Again, you didn't hurt my feelings, I just thought you were a little rude.  I'm sorry you had to read my post, but if you don't give details on your situation you'll get answers you don't need.  Thanks for wasting my time.
