i am using a flased ds and supercard sd.
i have several other games (non of which freeze) on my 1 gig sd and 10% of the space free.

i have tried scanning for errors and there are none.

defrag does not work as it says the disk is lokced by windows or another program (gives a DEFRAG00103 error).

i am using the latest firmware and patching software.

i have tried repatching ouendan and it did not work.

any ideas?

Try putting only 1 game into your SD card. If it still freezes then there might be something wrong with your SD card. I had the same problem with my Sandisk 256, a few days ago, I tried an another Sandisk 256 and that one had no problem with any game..

I think you need at least 15% free space to defrag a drive.

If you ever delete all your games on your card, put them back on with the ones you like the best first.  That way the ones you want to try out will be last, so when you delete those you will not need to defrag as often.

i freed up enough space on the sd and it let me defragment.

metroid still freezes though.

what i dont understand is why metroid freezes yet other games do not.
it is not only games that were on there before metroid but ones that have been put on after.

Repatch Metroid to run from the DS, not your CF or SD card.  The Supercard compatibility list used to note this, but it doesn't anymore.  I still run it from the DS with no problems.  It takes longer to load, but it works fine otherwise.

thanks for the help, will give it a try.

should i do the same for ouendan?

edit: do you mean switching "rom position patch" from sd to supercard?

Yes.

loading from supercard didn't work, metroid still freezes.

Well, that sucks.  I would disable any options you may have turned on (restart, faster game play, etc.).  Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.  Just to make sure, what version of SC firmware and patcher are you using?

i am using 1.61 and 2.52.

i am gonna try using 2.51 patching software since it worked for all the other games i have on the supercard.

will also try playing around with the options.

mrpeach

2.51 patching software seemed to do the trick.
