Firsts off, hi I'm brain_stew and this looks a nice site, so I think I'll spend a little time here.

I'm sorry for acting like a complete noob but I keep reading conflicting reports and after repeated searches I can't get a definitive answer.  From what I've read the Supercard used to require 3 different DS games to save onto but is this still required? I was tempted by the M3 as that sorts all your saves out for you and automatically saves to SD but it's twice the price, so can the Supercard do this?

If I have to update my Supercard to allow me to do this, is it easy to do and could someone point me to a guide that tells you how to do this? Apart from saving is there any real difference between the Supercard and M3 because the price difference in the UK is huge (nearly double).

Thanks for being patient with me and I hope for some nice responses.

No you dont need these games , its sometimes that new roms come out and the patching software doesnt work correctly, these games work perfect with the current patcher

any saving problems work after the software i supdated

If you plan to play a lot of GBA games, then go with the M3 since it has more compatibility and no slow down. If you play mostly DS games, then go with the supercard but sometimes requires a patch to get some games working, like Tetris DS, but it was fixed really quickly with a new firmware and software upgrade.

I personally like the supercard better since it's cheaper and much smaller.

Cheers for the help, GBA games would be nice but just as an added bonus, if the Supercard really is much smaller then that gets my money.

Another quick question, I've read that the Supercard has quite a few emulators built in, to use these do I just copy paste the roms onto my SD card or do I have to convert them with the provided software. Thanks for all the help.

Supercard can support the following:

NES/FC: *.nes
SEGA SMS / GAME GEAR: *.sms ,*.gg
GB/GBC: *.gb ,*.gbc
PC-Engine: *.pce

Just copy the roms over to the card, no software patching required. I believe the M3 has a few other emulation types such as the SNES which the supercard does not have. The M3 also has the best built in media player.

You got your facts wrong.
The supercard supports NES, GB, PCE and SMS/GG games.
