Firmware versioning: Put a game in your DS, load Pictochat and eject the game. If your screens turn yellow, magenta, or dark blue, you need a PassMe2.

What doees this mean? What is Firmware Versioning? Is it the same thing as Flashing the Firmware? My friend sayd that I really dont need to flash my DS firmware cuz things dont change all that often, but that I should update my supercard firmware if I get an old supercard version. He sayd that I should upgrade my supercard firmware every time they release a new version of the (Kernel). He sent me to eng.supercard.cn.

He also says that I should download and run the Beta version first because its the whole upgrade. Then I should download the others cuz there the add ons? Is this the way it should be done? Oh and I dont actually have a DS or a Supercard YET! I am going to preorder the DS Lite.

Oh, What is a pass me 2 and what is it used for? Is it the same thing as a Superpass thats used so that I can use the supercard throught the DS slot? And so that I am able to play commercial DS games while the Supercard is running? And also so that the DS firmware can be Flashed?

gasp!!!

you really dont know what your doing huh?

ill tell ya.
the firmware versioning is what determines if you need a passme 1 or 2.

A passme (also a superpass, and passkey) is needed to access NDS files from the gba slot.

without a passme/superpass/passkey, you will only be able to play gba games from your supercard.

you can install flashme using your pass-through method so that you wont need it anymore.

you clear? maybe someone else can explain better...  :D

if you don't have a DS yet, then you are going to definetly need a passme 2.

you can then install flashme v7 onto your DS Lite, so that you will no longer need the passme2 to access nds files.

kernels are the upgraded firmware of the supercard, which are updates. just put the file on your CF, boot it up in your supercard, and it installs automatically

well, hope that explains more :)
