you can install flashme using your pass-through method so that you wont need it anymore.

Is flashme another way to Flash the DS Firmware?
Thats what my friend called it, Flashing the Firmware! Are both these things mentioned the same thing?

And once it is done, is it perminent?

And is that the only way to play commercial Roms?!
There is no special type of Homebrew for Roms?!
So if I download Moonshell I can still play commercial Roms?!

Thankx for everyones help!

I'm not following you entirely but flashme is the only way to flash your firmware. (ok, it's not but all the other methods aren't useful to normal users.)
Flashme replaces the software already on the ds with a slightly different version that duplicates the result you get from using a passme device.
So this is something you can do if you don't want to boot up your system with a passme everytime.
The entire thing is reversable so no worries there.

This is not the only way to play commercial roms, as I said it's just something for you're conveniance. You need to use a passme(or wifime) to use flashme in the first place. so you can play commercial roms with a passme.

Yes, you can run both commercial roms and homebrew on your ds, regardless if you're ds is flashed or not.

And a few notes to clear thing up:
you can run homebrew using wifime, so you can flash your ds with it, but in most cases you cannot play commercial roms with it.)
A passme is thesame as a passtrough device or a superpass, it plugs in the ds game slot and an original game plugs into that.

You can find information on both wifime and passme on this forum

I typed this on a tv, I hope I did not make too many typo's I cannot see them...

So you don't need to open your DS up to flash it?

no...
there is quite a few howto tutorials on the internet, if its an old style DS you just open up the battery compartment (thats as much "opening" of the DS your going to do... should be like one small screw) and take off the pink/white sticker and short the SL1 thats right beneath that. if its the ds lite there is no sticker, but a screw-like thing thats close to the SL1 that you cannot touch otherwise you will brick your ds.
