I have a pink DS with v6 on it. (flashed it myself)
Now I see there is a new version V7. Is there any need for me too upgrade my DS again?
Is V7 going to give me the option to change my brightness on my old DS? (I thought i read it somewhere) or is that nonsens?

I tried to find my answer on this forum but no succes.

Run installation file on your DS and if it detects your DS as DS Lite, you will be able to change brightness. Otherwise you don't need to upgrade because backlight level can't be changed with DSL's firmware.

Ok running it now and it says: If power is lost blabla your NDS may be....
Does that means he is not seeing it as a NDS lite?

Info about your original firmware is in the bottom of the screen. If installer says it's v4 or older, backlight setting won't work. If you are not sure, you can install anyway.
