Ok all I wan't to know is wheter i can use patcher 2.51 with latest FW(1.62)

untill 2 days ago i was still using FW 1.60 with patcher 2.51, then NSMB came out and I saw a bunch of people saying how it worked great with patcher 2.541 and all, so I said to meself "maybe its time to update this damn thing), so i repatch all my roms(900MB of roms), upgrade flashme(was still using V6), and also the SC FW

And voila, indeed NSMB works perfect, but just yesterday i booted up AC and i got a huge delay from the nintendo loo to the AC menu screen, like 10 seconds, it used to be under a second before, and not only that, while on the menu screen I got some stuters

I said to meself, "meh I don't like ac that much anyway, ima play a little MPH", and was terrified when i found out that it did the same..., well not as much as bad as Ac but still, from the "touch to start" screen to the main menu screen it took about 5 seconds, it used to be instant, didn't played more as I was pissed

So I was like "Ok I'll look into that tomorrow, for now I'll just play a little lost magic".... damn, lost magic allready had some delays, but now it's unbereable, whats up with romman anyway? not one proper patcher was released since 2.51....

So can I use older patchers with the latest version of the FW with no problems?

or even better, can I downgrade the FW? i don't give a damn abot NSMB it's not that good anyway, i'd rather have MPH LM and AC.

You can. I repatch AW with the current version and it runs alot faster. I repatch all the games I played with and no problems at all

Are you using clean roms?

yes, all of them are good dumps... what options have you used?

I used the following options:

saver patch to sd card
rom position to sd card

enable trim rom
faster game play

I don't know it this makes a difference. My sd card is a ultra 2 1.0GB card with flashme install v7

well the differences are that I use CF and I never use faster gameplay... just trim, will try them with it on then... but i think thats not it, maybe something fucked my CF up.. or even the SC itself.., though the rest of my games play perfectly..

so, yeah, faster play fixed them... though its weird that i didn't have to use it before, and not only that lost magic is playing a whole lot better now, and even more weird is the fact that io tryed patching it with faster play on when i still used 2.51 to see if would help the delays, but did nothing, now not only helps the delays but with it off i just can't play the game... really weird

I never got the whole faster play thing anyway, could anyone explain to me exactly what it does?

edit: and another thing I need to know, are there any games that faster play breaks? i'm not in the mood of testing game by game of mine, so I'd rather just patch them all with it.

You can go here to see what setting works or not.

I go here to see which game have problems.

kryptkillor

No, fastplay indeed needed to be used to play games at facepace or original like speed as the original carts.  It happens to me all the time when I first started to use it.  Didn't think it would do much but the truth is, some games runs fine without that on, but some games goes extremely slow without that.  So its best to turn that on when you patch all the games.
