I'm looking to get a DS Lite with Supercard mini-SD soon. I've been looking at mini-SD cards and most of them are either at normal speed, 50x or 80x. I'm trying to get the best bang for bucks here so is there any difference in getting a normal mini-SD card as compared to a 50x or 80x one?

What is the minimum speed transfer that ensures no slowdown in games?

I apologise. I've found the answer to the speed question on here:

Looks like faster is better no matter what. Anyone has any problems with a miniSD 80x card?

I got a Sandisk 512mb minisd and all games play fine so far.

what games typically have slowdown?

I don't know, mate. That's what my friend told me too, get 60x and above. But I'm not sure which game exhibits slowdown apart from Tony Hawk as mentioned in the link I provided.

Kingston read is around 50x I believe.

Does it work well? Have you tried Tony Hawk on it?

I have a regular SanDisk 1GB mini SD and it works like a charm.

2GB Sandisk SD Mini... Tony Hawk slowdown problems.  :(

I guess I'll hang on to my CF for a while.  :)

Personally, I use a Ritek 1GB miniSD card (rated at 133X).

I noticed a slight slow down in Animal Crossing with it when I had first got it, but after updating to the latest patching software and repatching, the slow down seems to have disappeared.

I'd recommend this miniSD card, as it's dirt cheap and effective.
