Risky biz Big Guy. I used one for my old DS, but for DSL#3... I made a tool out of metal rod and tape.

Ya I will just solder it next time and be 100% sure it's good. Don't forsee me flashing though since I have a Passcard 3 and Superkey now.

I just took a piece of a McDonald's straw, cut it length wise so I could roll it tigher and shoved it in the SL1 hole. Stuck some tin foil in it and jammed a toothpick in till it started flashing. When it was done, grabbed the straw as close to the DS I could, pinched and pulled everything out. Did two DS-Lite Navy's in a row like that xP Oh, I used the Max Media Launcher too.

EXCELLENT advice! Never would of thought in a millon years to use a straw as a guide/protection. Great stuff.

Greets,

My experiences flashing the NDS Lite with FlashMe are so far 3 successful attempts (1 import and 2 US released NDS Lites).

What I used/did were:
- M3 Slim SD Adapter (version e19 firmware) w/1gb Sandisk SD Card
- Passkey 2 unit w/V4 firmware & Mario Kart DS game (no need for them after the initial flashing:)
- "FlashmeLiteBeta_Apr_9 2006" version 7 of FlashMe for the NDS Lite (includes brightness level options)
 Found here: http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?p=604960
- End of a metal clothes hanger, as someone on the forum suggested
- Small eyeglass philips for opening the battery compartment
- A/C adapter to keep the NDS Lite plugged in
- And most importantly, a person to spot the % progress for me so I can concentrate on not f#$@ing up the NDS Lite unit.

Here are a few links that may be useful if you are using or plan on using the M3 Adapter but have useful insight on Passkey 2 and other Dev stuff:

Hope this helps everyone wanting to flash their NDS Lite=)
