I was wondering if anyone has had experience working
with one of these adapters, and if anyone has tried one
with supercard CF?  Thanks.

Yndin

It's CF II adapter so I don't think that it would work with SC CF because it only uses CF I.

sneef

that's true.  CF II is not supported by supercard CF.  microdrive is also a CFII.

Interesting adapter though.. Never seen one like that before!

Here's a SD - CF Adaptor, but it's the price of 512 - 1GB Compact Flash card lol

True, but I already have a couple of 2GB SDs, and I was thinking of getting a supercard CF for better homebrew compatibility.  I'll probably just by a new 1GB CF to be safe.

Man, I'd get one of those, a 2GB MiniSD card with an SD adapter, and a Supercard CF, and then I could-

Well I ordered one for giggles. (not the CF II)
It should at least work with one of my video cameras.
I'll let you know . . .

Waay back when I was deliberating on which flashcard to buy, I'd narrowed it down to two choices (with my only criteria being SD support), the huuuuuuuge G-Bank, and one of the CF cards that were doing the rounds back then, with an adaptor I found on some Australian electronics site and no-where else. It was a type-1 SD-CF adaptor, so would probably have worked with the SuperCard CF too. Of course, when I finally got around to buying a card I found the SC:SD and all was well :D

....ah yes, here you go.

Thanks for the reply. I already have a SCSD, and I have several SDs including two 2GB-150X SDs.  I want to get the CF version of supercard for better homebrew compatibility.  I'm going to try the adapter with one of my SDs.

I'll let you know if it works . . .

UPDATE:

Well, the adapter I ordered finally arrived today.  I've already purchased a SCCF and 2GB CF during the wait.  I can confirm this type of adapter will work with SCCF as well as other CF equipment.  I didn't realize this model was bigger than a standard CF, that sucks.  I also didn't realize the SD would stick out, that really sucks.  I've seen smaller CF adapters that hide the SD.  This one goes in my eBay pile.

DSLite to SCCF to CF/SD to SD/miniSD... truly overkill.

Now he just needs a miniSD to Transflash/microSD to top everything off.  :D
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

bitblt

If you run into problems . . .

1) Make sure the miniSD is properly formatted
2) Check the miniSD contacts
3) Be sure the miniSD is properly inserted
4) Check the miniSD adapter and contacts
5) Be sure the miniSD adapter is properly inserted
6) Check the CF->SD adapter and contacts
7) Be sure the CF->SD adapter is properly inserted
8) Check the SCCF contacts
9) Be sure your SCCF is properly inserted
10) Make sure your SCCF has the latest firmware
11) Be sure to use the CF patcher software
(without flashme . . .)
12) Check superpass contacts
13) Be sure superpass is properly inserted
14) Inserted game in superpass

. . . repeat checklist as needed.
