My mini-SD card always needs to be reformatted if I ever delete anything off it. Copying to it is fine, but if I delete any file, it either will not say anything, or bring up a "File Cannot be Found" error, but deletes it anyway. Once I remove the card from the reader and put it back in, Windows cannot recognise it and says it needs reformatting.

Now, I assume that this isn't normal for a mini-sd card, so is it broken, or is my computer's card reader rubbish?

hm.... i think your mini sd my be defective but try this software, its called hd tune and run a error scan to see if there is any damage blocks.

I bought it off eBay but it was sealed and seemed to work fine. The user is no longer registered, so i'm screwed unless Kingston will take it back. It seems that the first 400 - 500 mbs will work so I could just pretend I have a 512mb card :p

well im glad you saw what the problem was, I am sorry theres nothing else i can do but hope that the company does take it back and exchange it.

nice  program ,  i am testing mine at the moment to see if mine have  any red bits  so far so  good but   5 more cards to do lol

I think you've been had matey, I just put my 512 card in after my 1 gig and it looked exactly like that, you are physically missing half the storage space either due to dodgy goods or a malfunction!
