I guess I'm still stumped - what difference do these two serve, or do they just go hand in hand? The firmware on my DS is the first version...

Basically, I still need both the SC and Passme, and would need to run flashme as well?

This has probably been brought up enough times, but I havn't seen it in my searches...

(warn me if you need more detail)

To run commercial and homebrew ds games etc. on supercard you need a passthrough device. Flashme and Passme are both passthrough. Passme will enable you to run these games ect. Flashme is another method of this, which has the same effect, but you do not need any extra devices in the top slot of the ds.

The trouble is to install flashme you need a passme. I would recommend buying a passme, and then installing flashme, because it has protection against 'virus' code.

The bricker isn't a virus, it's a trojan. There's a difference... viruses execute and spread automatically, trojans are disguised as useful apps and must be executed by the user for them to go off.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Alrite, thanks!

Just wanted to make sure...if I can ever find a Passme+SC for cheap I'll be onto this pretty quickly.

Man, this stuffs expensive :p

Hi,

I recently flashed my DS (older) with wifime.

Am I right in thinking that the Max Media Launcher will be as vulnerable as the passme / super pass to the bricker trojan.

does anyone know if datels max media device (the hdd) can be modified or can run roms, sounds nice having a hdd :-)
