Here's my two cents that I sent in:

"Hello,
I was wondering if the next supercard firmware might include an updated menu screen? I personally will always use supercard as my homebrew flashcard but I am jealous of other companies such as m3 and ez-flash since the fact that they have a very detailed gui. I know there there are a lot of people wishing the same as I because I read it in forums such as scdev.org. In the forums they've also suggested that if this isn't possible just because lacking built in memory that you might be able to have some sort of auto boot function implemented for loading 3rd party software such as dsorganize and moonshell. We're looking for some sort of support on this issue if you can.

Any info on these concerns would be appreciated very much, thank you for your time.

Adam"

We'll see what happens...

I gave him an email.  :o

QuoteWassup Romman. Thought I might give you my two cents.

Hey Romman, I don't you but just to let you know, the only reason I
bought a Supercard Lite was that it was the only one out that was
flush with my DS Lite.  I've been waiting for the M3 company to
release their counterpart but naturally, I'm an inpatient person.

Why do I say this?  Because from all the research I have done, the
Supercard menu on my DS - on any DS - on any Gameboy at all - SUCKS.
It's ugly, unsightly and a huge turn-off to people.  I would of bought
a G6 if it at least came with 1 GB of storage.  To tell you the truth,
I kind regret placing an order for the Supercard Lite (it's shipping
right now).

But that's why I'm emailing you this.  To give you inspiration.
Because you know there are thousands, maybe millions of people with a
crappy Supercard menu.  YOU can FIX that.  Only you can remedy that
problem.  From the bottom of my heart, please find a solution.  For
me.  For all of us.  For the world.

Supercard: Cheap, Ugly, Functional
M3: Very Expensive, Pretty, Highly functional (but can't write to FAT?)
G6: Expensive, Very pretty, not so functional and can't write to FAT (512 mb sucks)
EZIV: Moderate-to-Expensive, Mediocre appearance, mediocre functionality

Take your pick.

I'm familiar with Supercard's quirks and all that, which is why I got a SC lite when I know there may very well be superior products available in the near future.  If the SC team made a card that was expensive, pretty, and had:

automatic save writing for GBA games
Faster memory allowing for 100% speed on 95% of GBA games
Same DS compatibility
Flush with front of NDSL
RTC in case I ever got bored and wanted to try Pokemon stuff
OPTIONAL fancy G6-ish menu

I'd gladly pay double what I paid for my SC lite.  I think most others probably would too.  SC could have a lot of success in the high-end market, in addition to their current excellent success in the low-end market.

Still no response. Looks like it's not gonna happen

Here is a dumb question, why does the menu need to be changed? How much time do you spend in your menu? I spend all but 3-5 sec scrolling down to get to a game or app. It is very fast and functional. I will say I like the way you can change the background in moonshell (i have done that with kirby pics for my daughter), but not necessary.

I don't walk around with the ds in menu, showing it off. Most people buy a supercard knowing it is a great product, but most likely for the price.

I get why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, but when you buy a product fully knowing what it is and it is about, then complain about it to the maker, what do you think is gonna happen?....Exactly what has happened.

If the guy (phoood) wanted a m3 so bad, he should have been more patient... and waited to get what he wanted. Now he has a product that works, but is not pretty.  If I was romman, I would be thinking spoiled brat go buy one then and leave me the f@ck alone.

This is not meant as a slam, but lets really look into how long you are in the menu and really I don't think "the world" is wanting a new menu for the supercard. I  They would most want something a little more important.

Uhh, yeah.. after a month of use (with my sc lite).. i kinda take back what I said.

but dammn, thanks for including me into the "spoiled brat" category, makes me feel better after what I emailed.

the menu isn't that bad anymore.   the only bad things about it now is the weird spelling in the "help" tab and the (not really uncomfortable) uncomfortable menu scrolling when you have lots of stuff in your sd card.

but yeah onekelly, this is my first flash cart.  so when i wrote it, i was comparing it to the g6.  the menu's not that bad, the only thing that can make browsing though the menu quicker (and better) is utilizing both screens.

onekelly

Phoood, thanks for taking what i said as well as you did. Not so "spoiled brat" like of you. LOL!

I agree with what you said, that utilizing both screens would be cool.

AnalogMan

Pressing L or R moves the list by screenfulls.

What I'd like to see in future updates is the supercard organize the files by name >_<
