form what i hear in this furom the Super Card have 32Mbyte memory flash right?
as i know flash memory taks a little power becous he can't lose the memory ...
now the CF is a little hard drive, and hard drive that have an engine who taks lots of power.

now if romman or one of us will re-program the Super Card to stop the CF power after the game was load into the flash it save lots of power !!!

you can take exmple form lep top computers that the power off ther hard drive after a while that save lots of power !

Uh, I don't think they are hard drives as much as they are flash, but then again someone said soemthing about taking out their CF card after they loaded the game.

dor700

you didn't understand me i sayed that evry time that you load a game to play it the Super card load it to the flash cheap (MAX 32 MByte [256 Mbit]).
and i say that the CF is a energy eating! beacus it is lick a little hard drive, and hard drive running with a engine .

i segest that after the Super Card is finishing load the game to the flash memory the program (that need to be invetnted) will power off the CF to save power, i know  it is poseble beacuse laptop computers use it...

Try pulling your CF card when the game is loaded. You can still play the game but can't save. But no changement in battery life. Still the same. By the way try a spell checker or something it's hard to understand what you say.

It's a different type of media, think about it. The average PC/Laptop hard drive has 1, 2 or more magnetic discs spinning at 7,200 revolutions per minute.

What moving parts are there in a flash card?

dor700

i serch up and i found that up to 128 MB ther is cheap lick this :

and more then 128 ther is an hard drive lick this :

but it doesn't matter do you agree that more part taking more power?
and after the Super Card copy the game form the CF to the built in 256MBit ther is no point to let the CF runing

Liquid Cat

Hmmm......

Sorry I've only ever had 64mb and 128mb (On a sidenote, I once put a 128mb CF card through a washing cycle, and it still works).

Well I still don't really see it would take much power, only way is to test the theory. I don't really think anyone should be taking the CF card out after loading roms each time, I don't think it's worth the risk to the CF card.

Personally, I'd just by some more rechargeable batteries.

dor700

i didn't say that yo need to poll out the CF card!
i say that a program will shut down the CF after the load
