The instructions state:
--------
If you did not have FlashMe on your DS before:
1 - get the Installation file from http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/
2 - copy the installation file "flashme.nds" to your CF/SD card
3 - gather proper materials and make these preparations.
4 - insert your SuperPass (or PassMe) into the DS slot with a game in it.
5 - put your SuperCard into the GBA slot
6 - turn on the DS

7 - select and run flashme.nds from the SuperCard menu
--------

If I do what 4 tells me, then turn on my DS - I will see the health and safety warning, then have 2 blank white screens.

I can not plug the PassMe2 into the DS slot until AFTER I have already powered on the DS and run the IQSRAM.gba file, then turned it off and back on again...  any other method using the PassMe2 gives me white screens.

Can someone please help clarify this for me before I attempt this and hose my Lite??  Thanks!!

EDIT: Ah, I see the problem. The text below (the original post) is an explanation of what you should normally do. But here, you can use common sense: make sure you've plugged in the DS and removed the battery cover and the sticker covering SL1 already, then boot up your PassMe and SuperCard as you normally would, and finally run the FlashMe.nds file. All that matters in that order is that you've got the DS plugged in and SL1 open to be shorted; then you run FlashMe.nds however you need; then you follow the instructions on the screen (shorting SL1) to flash it.

ORIGINAL POST: First you get the file and put it on the flashcart; put that in the GBA slot. Put the PassMe and game needed in the DS slot. Plug in the DS, take out the battery cover, and remove the red and white sticker with the screwdriver you used for that. Turn on the DS and run FlashMe.nds (or whatever the file is called). Stick a nail, a paper clip, or some other metallic object (you have to push a little harder than you'd expect) into the hole you removed the sticker from to start shorting the SL1 connection. If you're doing it right, you'll see the counter go up; if not, the counter will stay at 0%. Don't turn the DS off in the middle - just keep trying until you get it to work. When the counter reaches 100% and it says it is safe to turn off your DS, turn it off, remove the PassMe, replace the battery cover, and enjoy.

Okay perfect - I just wanted to make sure.. but now I have one more question: I am attempting to flash a DS Lite, you mentioned a sticker covering the hole - I though the red and white sticker was only on the old ones - below is a photo of my Lite with a red circle around the hole I am going to stick a toothpick with aluminum foil into (sadly, not showing the brass screw looking thing inside the hole):

If that is correct, I'm ready to go!

I think that's right, but I can't be sure. Either way, I have heard that the left side of the hole is metal - if you touch that, you'll brick your DS, so be sure that either only the tip of your thing is metal (so it won't touch that side) or that you block that metal side with paper or something.

MAN, that was some stressful shit!  It took about a minute to get it to move from 0%.  The wire coathanger tip did not work for me.. I gently placed the DS on the table and used a tiny eyeglass flathead screwdriver and got it to go.. ocne it started, it was cake.

Thanks for all the help!!

i was wondering, didn't you need to have a special .sav file for a specific cartridge to use the passme2? IF so do you know how to make these .sav files or where to get them from?

The real passme2 (not the Superpassme2 or other types) is already programmed to a certain DS game - you use the generic IQSRAM file with the Supercard to flash.  Take a look here.

If you do not already have a passme2, I would get one from the original maker of them - not one of the aftermarket deals.  No programming, easy to use.
