Hi. I am using a brand new SD, with 1.44, and a kingston 512 (type1) CF card (not turbo).

My problem is when i get the thing to boot to the menu, after many attempts stopping at cf not found, There are no files or dirs available to navigate.

I have copied games, patched games, movies, jpgs, all in their own dirs, and even put a few games in root dir.

Still no joy. I have formatted my card 5 times (fat, default, name and not named, not quick format). If i put firmware 1.43 on it wont let me downgrade.

:Edit: I am using a GBA.

:Edit: Could there be a possibility that the bad batch of 2000 could effect gba too?

Any ideas? TIA  :(

I had a lot of trouble with my CF card at first.  I spend hours trying to get it formatted correctly.

I tried 2 computers with 2 different CF readers but the only way I could get it to work was formatting it through my brother's digital camera!!

Good luck!

Thanks for that. I will try other methods of formatting.

Did you get the error which I get. You can boot, but see no files/dirs?

Ty.

At least once, yes.  It was very frustrating for a while.  Everything would seem ok, but... nope.

I have the same problem too.  If I format any of my CF cards on my main computer I can't see any files on it in the SC just the SC menu.  I format the same cards on my laptop and it works fine.
