Ok, I just finished installing my new NDS shell.
But I ran into a problem...

Whenever you hold a normal, unmodified DS upside down, the top part (the part that holds the top screen and speaker) stays in place; still touching the bottom part (the part that holds the touch screen and buttons).

My DS, when held upside down, the top part just hangs loose instead of staying together!

Also, on a normal DS, whenever you unfold your DS to play a game, the top part clicks into place, instead of going flat. Then you can - if you want - push it past the click so that it is flat. (if you dont understand, then try it on your DS, unfold it, and listen for a click)

My DS doesn't have that click. it just goes straight into flat mode. I dont like that at all![/b]

So my main question is...

What inside of the DS Shell, makes the top tight, and click?
I can open up the top part of the DS and tighten something if needed, I just don't know what it is im supposed to tighten.

Please help!!!

And no, I don't think its defective, how could it be? its factory-made lol :wink:
I think there must be like a screw, or a hinge thats loose, but I'm not sure what the heck inside of it makes it stiffer and "clickable"

Someone who knows a DS good and can answer, or someone who can take apart the top of their DS and examine what makes the click... either way, please do so!

sounds defective to me, if its under warranty just go ahead and get it replaced for free

ok guys, its not defective!
get that out of your minds!

im ovvoisly missing the piece that keeps it in its propped up position.
if someone can find out what piece that is, I can take it out of my old shell and then replace it into my new one

by the way, i cant rreturn my shell because i had it for a while without putting it togerther

i replaced my ds shell and it doesnt fall open like yours but it doesnt click shut like it used to either. I have studied your picture and i think it may be a problem with your hand :lol:

My only suggestion is to take it apart again and put it back together carefully.

yeah i might do that and study the shell for any defects I can fix...


but im gonna wait for my friend to come over cause he's the one that put it together in the first place
