the compatibility amazes me, I'm playing kid chameleon right now lol best mario wanabe ever, actually I think it surpasses mario in many aspects, mainly because its not as kiddy as mario, great game 8)
SC CF + 1GB Kingston CF + flashed NDS = a whole lot of fun.

Yeah, a Nomad is totally better than this but hey, this is still great! -- One of the best DS EMUs out there now (funny how it's already a lot better than SNESDS). The people that are working on that are lazy, none of the good games work. Oh well, I'm getting a portable SNES anyway. ;)

Here's tons of games I've tested for PicoDrive:

Sonic 1, 2, 3, and & Knuckles - little slow, but playable
Aladdin - perfect
Alien Soldier - perfect
Castlevania: Bloodlines - little slow, but playable
Ecco: The Tides of Time - perfect
Gain Ground - perfect
General Chaos - perfect
Golden Axe - perfect
Mega Bomberman - perfect
Road Rash 3 - not working
Sparkster - perfect
Rocket Knight Adventures - perfect
Tiny Toon Adventures - perfect
Streets of Rage 2 & 3 - little slow, but playable
Streets of Rage - perfect
Sunset Riders - little slow, but playable
Vectorman 2 - little slow, but playable
Vectorman - perfect
Championship Pro-AM - not working
Mutant League Football/Hockey - perfect
Ristar - little slow, but playable
Road Rash - little slow, but playable
ToeJam & Earl II - perfect

The guy is busy with real life stuff so he doesn't have as much free time. And maybe this picodrive guy does, obviously  :?

I've only tested three games so far; Sonic 1 and 2 and Quackshot. All three of them worked fine. The only problem I had was the frame rate. It wasn't very good to say the least. But hey, I guess it's still early in development. Still a very good job with the emulator.

Flashback works. That's all I need for the DS right now. :D But... is a bit slow.  :?

Guys. Buy a psp. It's stupid holding out for truly awesome 16 bit emus on the ds, because its just not happening with that processor. I own both, and seriously... they exist in perfect harmony.

People bitch on the psp boards that there's no working gba emu... and I insist they buy a DS and a flashcart like M3 or supercard.

Both consoles do everything you could ever want handhelds to do.

PSP is an emulation monster. The N64 emus for PSP are coming along beautifully, and in a years time... PSone and N64 emu, playable with sound will be a reality.

It does suck for official software however. With the exception of ridge racer, daxter, tony hawks underground 2, tales of eternia and a few other rpgs.

The DS on the other hand I hope to someday see perfect SMS, NES, Gameboy color and other 8 bit systems emulated full screen perfectly. It is hopeless for anything more.

The strong arm of the DS is where the PSP lacks. official software. The DS is light years ahead of PSP in terms of amazing games... and the future lineup is a gamers wet dream.

If you don't already own a psp, splash out and buy one and a 4gb duo. Shove a ton of isos, roms and .pmp videos on there and you'll see what I mean.

We are currently spoiled for choice with handhelds. Six years ago... handheld emulation was where? and how many gameboy color games were anything special?

I agree on that. Flashback runs great on NES emu for the PSP.

paying 300 bucks just to play prehistoric system games on the go , no thanks, because really, a 300 dollar portable its not something I'll be parading on the streets with... if I do that down here before I know it I'll be standing naked somewhere trying to figure what the hell happened, I rater wait and get me a wii heh, it won't take long for the virtual console to get hacked, it allready has sd cards support so.. I'll be playing all them nes, genesis, snes, 64 in my trusty console for free.

Yes. because the wii is a handheld. are you utterly impervious to reason?

handheld emulation is the issue. If I wanted to discuss console emulation, then I'd be harping on about the original Xbox. A console which I'm really not that into, but I've strangely fallen in love with the 360...

anyway. that's all irrelavent.

Onarum, I can remember people from what was a very popular GBA related site known as GBAEMU going out and spending 300 bucks on a GP32, and not long after that, 400 on a tapwave zodiac, just for its emulation capabilities. Emulation is an important factor to many on these forums, and I was just everyone know exactly where handheld emulation stands instead of hearing how crap snes was on PSP from some fanboy who grabbed the first version he found. loaded up a mode7 heavy game and then proclaimed the awesome power of Nintendo.

I'm just saying... if you want playable 16 bit emulated games on a handheld. don't hold your breath for the ds to do this. I say the same thing to the PSP community when they get their hopes up every time another GBA emulator surfaces.

picodrive DS has been updated on an incredibly regular basis however, and it seems to me like the coder is a dedicated person indeed. I'll gladly eat my words if I'm proven wrong, and can someday pack my 2gb cf with megadrive roms. hell. I might even be able to finally play landstalker, cos the psp is pathetic for the diagonals needed to play that.

what I meant was that the damn thing is so expensive that I would never play with it anywhere but my home and maybe on a long drive, and in that case I'd rater spend that kind of money on a home console that will be able to emulate all those great games, you have no idea how it is down here in this damn country, you just can't play with a psp on a bus stop, I don't do that even with my ds.

ReRuss

I own a DS and PSP...

my PSP never gets any use

most of the PSP use was with NES , and most of it's use was before I got a DS , I bought a PSP primarily for SNES on the go which wasnt a reality back when I bought it , and is starting to come along now

hopefully with the new DevHook releases which allow firmware booting , I can get a lil more use since I can run 2.00-2.50 games and keep my 1.50 firmware

but you can get Genesis running on DS just as long as it isnt primarily ported code , if the code is more native toi DS then yes we can hope to see some good Genesis and SNES emulation one day , but $200+ isnt worth it , not to mention buying bigger memory stick to hold all the games

kyus

It's n64 and ps1 emulation I'm most interested in for ps1. The psone emu is in development by sony, and it'll be easily ripped and formatted to let any iso work with it, and the n64 emus are both in development by two INSANELY dedicated coders that update on a regular basis.

I'd someday like to have all my 16 bit and below stuff on my DS, as my 2gb cf is perfect to hold it all. and loads of isos and n64 roms on my psp.

I wish the devs of snezziDS and picodriveDS all the luck in the world. Please don't take my negativity too seriously.

I play my psp and ds everywhere. nobody has tried to nick either yet. Meh... glasgow really must be a safe city then :D
