Saw this a couple of times before in passing and didn't realise it was a reskinned localised version of Ouendan, one of my fav games on the DS.
The question is, will it be the same without the J-Pop?

Wow, you're a bit late.
The game was already show at E3...

Since it's made by the same team, there's no doubt the game will be as good as the original.
The big question is about the new playlist.
There's only rumor about it; for copyrights issues I presume.

Some are talking about Go with the Flow from the QotSA...
That one would be soooo good !

Rumor list :
   * Steriogram - Walkie Talkie Man
   * Deep Purple - Highway Star
   * Eve 6 - Inside Out
   * Ricky Martin - Livin' la Vida Loca ; 90% confirmed
   * Savage Garden - Truly, Madly, Deeply
   * Weird Al Yankovic - Hardware Store
   * Linkin Park - In the End
   * The Offspring - Hit That
   * Queens of the Stone Age - Go With the Flow
   * Kylie Minogue - Locomotion
   * Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
   * Barenaked Ladies - One Week

Yeah,
Like I said I saw it but never twigged.....
Game mechanics wise I'm sure it will be solid like the Jap version.
Just not to thrilled about the song list and the songs really do make the game.

Hem...

It's sure that if you're fond of J-pop music, it's better to stay with the original.

One of my favorite DS games, but the J-Pop songs really did it for me, I'm no big fan, but just the goofiness of the story along with a song I couldn't understand but was catchy and fun and fit the story worked out great for me. Like ImmortalNinja said, the songs really do make the game.

I can't see how some of the above suspected songs for Elite Beat Agents would work, but if they can pull it off then I'll be happy to get it. I hope it doesn't fail, we need more games of this creativity for not only the DS but the industry in general.

It may be difficult to foresee the game play cos we know the songs and the artists.
I mean, they have history for us. Like "Ricky Martin sucks", "Kylie has a cancer operation", and so on.
When we hear the song, we remember the music videos which are so far from the comic side of Ouendan.

But the japanese titles like Linda Linda had long history too in their country.
The titles were chosen to appeal the most people, mixing different styles (even if for occidentals, it's all alike).
They'll do the same for EBA, and I have no doubt it'll be good like a Ouendan 2.

It'll be good to think of a DS game, instead of a man and his bandana, while earing G'n'R on the radio.  :D

Well I had a listen to the two confirmed titles:
Steriogram - Walkie Talkie Man
Deep Purple - Highway Star

And I reckon they could work out quite nicely.

Even though Ricky Matin does annoy the heck out of me his song aint to bad for a game like this.
I mean Sega even used it for Samba de Amigo.
Actually if they get Reel Big Fish's "Take on Me" (or even the Aha orginal) that would truly rock.
