Hi.
******************************************
I could not see any direct topic about this software.
So if it's some kind of "don't ask" subject, please delete this topic.
PMs are wellcome.
******************************************

Searching info for my SC [maybe in 1/2 week it arrives], i've came across a movie converter called METEO. It converts videos in AVI or MPEG1 to GBA roms wich plays the video itself.
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/video/meteo_avi-2-gba_video_codec.htm
Has downloads for ver. 1.3.1 chinese and AVI2GBA [1.3.1 version translated to english by Mike Haggar].
The resulting gba file is fairly simple, loading the rom just starts playing the video, without playback controls, any button restarts the clip from beggining :(
I suspect the video as a simple rom file has a limit of 256mbit [32MB].

What i want to ask is that i gone to http://www.inside-cap.com/ and downloaded a video preview of a hentai game for gba [tsukidemo.gba]. Inside-cap is the maker of METEO, and the samples there should be made with METEO. But the video i got doesn't resets when i press any buttons.
Maybe it's encoded with another version?

As a side note, searching google, i found the version 1.4.0 of METEO in chinese, and it now  supots WMV videos as source.

it might have been version 1.4. I actually prefer that to 1.3 even though its in chinese because holding A allows you to fast forward your movie and B restarts it so you have more control instead of just pressing any button to restart it.

I think everybody is happy with GBA Media and filmplay.bin stuff. :)
So nobody searched an alternative.

i'm extremely unhappy with filmplay.  it doesnt work with the latest firmware.  thanks for the post.

Look the lil video i encoded in METEO 1.4.0. It can encode from MPEG1, AVI/DivX and even WMV!

The movie player software can do the exact same thing.
Only thing missing now is support for the Crystal Engine's improved file size.
