Initial Impression's.

   Packaging -

The box is about the same size as a DS. Orange/White in color.
With a nifty chart on the back

_______________________________________________________|
Capacity of SD Cards compared        |      Movie Play Time             |
to normal GBA flash carts.                 |         IN MINUTES              |

No Manuel or CD included.
Just the box, Blistered thin Plastic, and SuperCard.
I'd hope they eventually add a a one page manuel.
Cause there's:

No Mention of the 65 File limit per folder.
There's no info on what emulated system's the Card supports.
There sort of is a cryptic Picture how-to that say's
Internet>SD>SC>GB>Movie, game etc.

Overall though it's a good presentation.

   Build Quality -

The Card feels solid. Cool clear blue shell. The SD card slide's in nicely.
The SuperCard did "stick" the first couple times it was in the DS.
But now it's smooth.

  Ease of Use -

Well So Far So Goood.
Plugged SD card into computer.

+ copied and Organized in A-Z Folders
-/NES/A/etc - The USA Nes 2.01 Collection.  (Cause of the 65 File per folder limit.)

+ Put SD card in SuperCard.

+ Put SuperCard in DS

+ Played Punch-out.

Huh that was easy..... Um... I Gotta Go....Peace

More to Come........

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
UPDATE:

Sorry for the delay, Sometimes work gets in the way of Play.

The following are random bits of info.
-------------------------------------------------
1) Supported file formats in firmware =

gba game :*.bin ,*.gba
FC game :*.nes
SEGA SMS game or GAME GEAR :*.sms ,*.gg
GB/GBC game :*.gb ,*.gbc
PC-Engine game:*.pce
compress ROM(gba game):*.SCZ
game Saver:*.sav
upgrade file:*.scu
test file:*.sct
real time save file:*.sci

2) Supported file formats if you add FilmPlay.gba
      A.K.A. GBA Movie Player V1.3 =

         .GBM = Movie
         .GBS/.WAV = Music
         .TXT = Ebook

3) Emulated games, like GBA games, require a .sav file in order to
        save  to the CF card.
     - The ROM and its save file must be in the same directory, and share
        the same name, just as a GBA game.
     - Example: Tetris.nes may be the name of a NES ROM, so Tetris.sav
        would need to be the name of the save file.
     - You can use a save file generated for a GBA game. Just rename it.

5)  My favorite combo of settings to use to patch a rom with are:
      a. Real Time Save
      b. Reset
      c. Compression

       Then leave the rest of the options unchecked.

    The real time save rocks =
      L+R+B+SELECT

    Reset Rocks =
     L+R+START+SELECT

    Compression Rocks =
    988MB Shrunk to 645.1MB

6) ALL software on SD/SC is up to date.
       (as of June 28 2005)

         All you have to do is add Filmplay.gba
         I'm not sure why romman listed updates that DON'T apply.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

COMPATIBILITY =

SD/SC = Stock Firmware 1.44
Roms = GoodGBA Tested
Console = Nintendo DS

+ KEY == Name/Compress/Save/Cheat/Restart/Patch

+ KEY == Y = YES / N = NO / F = FAIL

1 ) Yoshi's island /Y/Y/N/Y/F
Speed is normal except when there's alot happening on screen.
But even then the slow down isn't much to complain about.

2 ) Mario Cart /Y/N/N/N/Y
Tried playing as Wario and their where serious graphical errors.
(as in i couldn't see Wario)

3 ) Astro Boy /Y/N/N/N/Y
Speed is normal except when there's alot happening on screen.
then the slow down is a little to much to bare.

4 ) Wario Land 4 /Y/N/N/N/Y
PERFECT

5 ) Castlevania - Sorrow /Y/N/N/N/Y
PERFECT

6 ) Fire Emblem - Stones /Y/Y/N/Y/F

EDIT: Review is on hold until the save problem is resolved.
        Look below

Peace.

chek

How is the game play speed compare with CF to GBA ?  I got reply from HOPEBUY that the SD Version is the same as CF Version.   What about battery life ?

NT

If you could report on games that have bad slowdown issues like Yoshi's Island it would be much appreciated.

Hello all,

I haven't been able to get the in game key combinations for real time save & enable save to work.

It gets to the "please wait" screen then freeze's.
I've left it chillin for up to an hour.
To see if it was just slow but thats a no go.
I've tried 30 some Games
Even tried putting just a hand full
in /root.

But i can save using the games built in save.
then restarting nds and transferring the .sav file to SD
through saver list.

Any suggestions

NDS
SuperCard SD
Sandisk Extreme 3 133x

Roman's response

"You need to use SD version software, and covert the GBA game again. If you use CF version software, it will cause this problem."

Testing......
Update soon.........

This is probably the answer.
I received the SuperCard before the
SD Patch soft was released.

Thank's Roman
what a quick response.
50 minutes
