I thought you were talking about Saturn emulators for the PC...  Sorry about that, lol.

They're not 100% but they're still really good.  Maybe around 70-80%?
Alot of games are payable for me, minus some graphical errors.  I couldn't get Nights to work though, or either of the BUG! games.

Saturn emulators for PC itself arnt that great, that have just been starting to get better--used to be awful.  Saturn is one of the hardest consoles to emulate.

The hardware was awful to program on which you may guess lead to not all that many titles for it, as well as killing any desire for homebrew on it.

You can however purchase a saturn for like $30 and a modchip for like $15 and just play everything 100% on the real hardware...

Of course ud be able to play the backups of the originals so as to not damage those cds any further.

Ok i think PSX-emu would work...but Sega saturn not....

-------------------------------
Emulation
Because Saturn developers did not always have extensive vendor-supplied programming libraries and because of the complicated timing characteristics of the shared bus, it is generally not possible to emulate the Saturn with the same high-level emulation techniques that allow usable Playstation and Nintendo 64 emulators on comparatively low-end computers. Hence for a long time it was impossible to produce a usable emulator, and those now available require much faster hardware than their Playstation and Nintendo 64 equivalents.

Ok the Satrun has 2 main CPUs...both 26Mhz...and 4 more CPUs...one
for example is just for CD-Drive...it was a hard job for coders to develop games for SS....but emulating it is even harder...

I have read an article whcih said: "For emualting u need min. 2x performance"... DS simply has not enough...and even if, would be allmost imposible...

BUT: Playstation, i think, is possible...

Indeed, Playstation emulation would be more likely achievable than N64.

srry i thought sega sauturn was crappyer than playsyation bc nobody bouught it

HAY GUYS WHAT ABUT PS2 THERES UN EMU HERE ;
http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/ps2/

THEI PORTED SNEZ9X TO DS AND IT WRKD FINE WHAT ABOUT PS2??

Saturn. That's rich. Saturn game PORTS, even soley in the 2D realm, would be difficult on the DS. A Saturn emulator would be goddamn *fantasy*.

SegaCD at full speed tho, is very much feasible. But whoTF wants to port the entire SegaCD chipset in assembler along with coding a static memory mapping and a graphics chip table that goes into the GBA RAM cart just to play Sonic CD or Lunar?

....
.....

Wait wait, Lunar might be kinda cool actually.

Playstation was not better but not worse at same time...it was easier to code...that was its advantage...so more gmes could be developed cheaper...that was ONE reason PSX has beaten Saturn...

PSX has 32Mhz...it could be emulated on NDS main core...since sound and input would be emulated by Arm7... i think it would go fine...but N64 Dreamcast and PS2 are impossible...they all had more power then NDS has...and more RAM....more VRAM...
But porting games from N64 to NDS would be possible...since mario64 and mariokart64 we all know that...

Quote from: "MasterMan"For Saturn, forget it. Not even PC has a perfect emulator for this yet.
So many processor and chips. Nor DS, nor PSP, nor XBOX360 can cope with Saturn emulation as of now.

Sega Saturn plays great for me on PC. My 1.6ghz laptop can play most sega saturn games perfectly with no slow down.

SSF is a great SS emu, and has been for nearly a year, not perfect but definitely the best one out there. Let's me play Dragon Force perfectly at least and honestly that's all I care about~

That said, DS and PSP wouldn't be able to, but saying the x-box 360 couldn't is just stilly. If you could get your hands on the SSF source code, it'd be fairly easy to port it to something the 360 could use.

As for saying the PSX could be emulated by the DS... I honestly don't know a great deal about the basic PSX hardware, but I'd definitely say I wouldn't expect anything playable to come out of any efforts made to emulate it.

hmhm i mean speed wouldnt be main problem on a psx emu on nds...
its more the polycount...even the nds is faster in many things...it cant display that much polysthe psx could...
But all 2D games would be possible to emulate on nds...i am allmost sure...

There's some major crack whoreage here.

The PSP has a superset of the PSX's processor and emulation is STILL difficult on it. Sony's figured it out but I can only imagine how much difficult the code is for them, and they have financial backing AND intimate knowledge of the system.

So you have

1. A few hundred grand/million in budget, due to having a financial INCENTIVE (selling games from the PS1 library online)
2. Similar CPUs, and a MUCH faster version doing the emulation :
PSX : R3000 44mhz
PSP : R4000 222 mhz ... X 2 (two cores)

And it's STILL taken them like 2-3 years to hit production.

On the DS, we have :

1. ZERO budget and financial incentive, save for MAYBE some paypal donations to the author. (what are they gonna sell, exactly?)
2. An arguably more efficient processor, but a completely different architecture nontheless.
PSX : R3000 44mhz
DS : Arm9 67mhz ... Arm7 33mhz (compare to 2 222-333mhz processors)

Not to mention that the Saturn is FAR more difficult to emulate than the PSX (there's two processors to emulate here, and there's nowhere NEAR as much documentation lying about)

The DS can barely handle PORTS from these systems. A emulator is just f[reakin]g ridiculous.

Question- "can sega saturn work on the ds?"

Answer- NO

Until someone makes a fully playable Sega Genesis port to the DS, lets drop this.

SSF doesn't use hardware for rendering, it's all software renderized, thus needing a hell of PC to run it in enjoyable form.
When coders learn how to do it use your ATI and Geforce boards to render things, it'll be far more fast and less buggy.
Do you see any graphical glitchs in games? In text boxes maybe?
SSF is the better saturn emulator out there, but far from perfect. Praise God you can play Dragon Force there, i can't :(
