Strange White Screen Problem (SC + Superpass 2)

Now I have a strange issue.  Before I start, I don't intend to flash my firmware and simply wish to continue using my superpass 2 (I have FW 1, launch-day NDS).  I can run GBA games off my supercard.  I followed the process to play DS roms (put .gba and .sav file on supercard, insert SC into DS, run the file configured for the appropriate DS game, write the SRAM, insert the superpass 2, turn off and turn on quickly).  I did everything, and upon turning the DS on I arrived at the correct screen.  It showed my DS game and GBA games.  I could even play my DS game (new super mario bros.), finishing the entire first level.  Yet when I turned off my DS, and turned it back on, I saw the NDS logo and warning screen, and then the system booted up into a double white screen.  If I take out the Superpass 2 device, the NDS boots into its normal main menu, and I can select 'gba game' and it boots into the GBA supercard menu.  There I can only see my GBA games, and not my NDS game.

What's strange is that if I repeat the whole SRAM write step and insert SP 2 + power cycle step over again, I can once again get the system to run properly, displaying both GBA and NDS games.  If I shut off the system without running an NDS game, turning the system on again boots me immediately into the supercard menu with every file visible.  Yet if I play my NDS rom, shutting off the DS in the middle of the game and turning on the DS gagain produces the NDS logo and warning sign and then the double white screen.

What in the world would make my NDS boot correctly the first time, but not work after running an NDS game?  I have already updated my SC firmware to 1.62, and I patched all my roms (otherwise I couldn't have gotten New Super Mario Brothers to run).  Thankyou in advance for helping me.

Its because the Supercards SRAM isn't battery backed, it will last for so long but you'll need to keep doing the gba/sav thing in the long term...

well like ratx said its because of the sram battery isent baked up, so what you can do is insted of powering off, boot back into the supercard menu by presing A+B+Y+X+R+L. for this you have to enable the restart option the game when patching.

Ah I see!  Thankyou very much.

Boy...I now have yet another reason to acquire a Superkey, once again making me feel like an idiot for purchasing a Superpass 2 just a few days before the Superkey was released.
