Superpass2 in a Superpass1 case?? And no programmer!

Yeah, I thought about the batteries being dead. My camera is sayng it's almost gone, I'm gonna recharge then, maybe redo this soldering again later, and try. I made that post the moment it failed, that's why I sounded so helpless xD

I was going to edit my previous post, but I thought it would require a new post =P

I finally did it! In the end it was only the damn batteries. Recharged them, just arrived home, put them on the slot, and BAM!, Superpass software is working! =D. Selected my game from the list, pressed "Program", a "Wait..." popup appears, and after about 30 s, it says it succeed, and told me to put the AP2E-0.gba and AP2E-0.sav to my SD card! I guess I can assume it did the trick, right??

Now all I need is to think in a solution to make this thing easier to reflash, but for now I need to clean the golden pads so that they connect with no problem to the DS Lite's, hehehe

bitblt, I can't say how gratefull I am with your help! I just hope it works! =D

EDIT: here's how I soldered it. Just hope it's gonna be usefull for other people who have lost / broken their programmer or just want to upgrade it's superpass to superpass 2.

Please remember that the switch must be DOWN, the OPPOSITE position of this picture:

Next step: make an attachable programmer, so I don't have to sold anything anymore =D

I have just built this but I do not have a 4.7 kohm resistor all I have is a 10ohm resistor will that work? what happens if I just connect them with a wire will it ruin it?

is it 10 ohm or 10 kohm? if it's 10 kohm, you should give it a try, the least that can happen is that it doesn't work. if it's 10 ohm, or if you don't put any resistor at all, the chances that you burn your superpass2 are high enough to not consider trying =P

Its 10 ohm I guess Ill just go to radio shack tomarrow and see if they have one

ok try this: go into your computers bios and then check if your parralel port is disabled, (woulda saved me 4 hours :oops: )

and the webpack is useless, it makes no difference, and makes it harder to programme

I totally agree... it was a pain to d/l it too. The SuperPass2 software worked fine with my hacked together JTAG.

does anyone have any segestions before I put it back together and keep it as a superpass 1

some things to check:

- have you got the 4.7 kohm resistor?
- were your batteries ok?
- did you remember to put the switch down, the OPPOSITE of how it's show on the picture I posted?
- have you checked your solders?
- is the parallel port active? (ECP mode on bios, I guess)
- are you sure you soldered everything? (don't forget to short the connectors 8, 10 and 11 on the DB25)
- is the orientation of the connector correct?

if you thing everything is fine, then just test the continuity of your connections. for example, check if the connector 2 on the DB25 is connected to its corresponding chip leg, and if it's not shorted with a neighbor connector or anything else.

post here your results! a picture of what you've done would be helpfull too.

I have everything as the picuture shows except instead of connecting it directly to the main part of the paralel port I connected it to the cable on the out end

I mean, did you connect the golden pads to the right DB25 connectors? did you follow this diagram? (pay attention to the numbers orientation, sometimes it can be confusing xD)

last step is to check if, for example, the connector 2 is really connecting to the TDI chip leg, using a multimeter. if all connections are fine, you got new batteries (at least charged ones), and still don't get it to work, try changing the parallel port to ECP Mode, or even enable it. if there's still no go, look for another computer to try, I did this exactly diagram and everything went just fine.

p.s.: sorry for my english, it's getting a bit worse every day :cry:
