any idea what was updated in this new dat? Am I right in assuming it just replaces the one in the SCsoft install to folder? (I think I tossed it on my SD card just for good measure with the last one but I doubt it will see any use there....)

I'm surprised there's been no more discussion about this new file.  The ROMMAN site says nothing about it - does anyone know what's been fixed or is new in this file?

Also, is there any utility out there that can be used to quickly display and/or edit the contents of a rominfo.dat file?

Actually, there's little to be said about rominfo.dat updates.  There's usually not a changelog, and most of the changes involve updates for newer ROMs that are out, nothing more.  I have not heard of anyone successfully modifying the rominfo.dat file.

Thanks NTolerance, I guess we'll just have to wait till the next SC soft update to see which is the highest # its compatible to...  :(

Aside from adding escape commands for real time save, software reset, etc, is there any real reason the supercard needs roms to be patched before playback? Especially if no saving is required for a game at all?

isomorph

You don't have to patch at all if you don't want to.  I don't know why everyone thinks you must patch.  You would just have to rename .sav file to match the rom name and turn off/on the GBA/DS to save the SRAM.

Got it from the chinese version, have to search for it. http://www.supercard.cn/chn/html/news/0571416270039761.htm

1。Able to patch 2019,2017,2045,2041,2044,1536,0376 under the restart option without any error. I think it means able to restart the game successfully.

2。Support games up to 2049.

Time to play Riviera.

SC CF + 1GB Kingston CF + flashed NDS = a whole lot of fun.

just buy the game.  sorry i'm a little drunk and cranky.  seriously,  people are obsessed with this game, and i really think its about enough.

stupid2ass

It works mostly fine for me but I also did buy the real game (I think it'll be a collector's some day).
Doesn't slow down nearly as badly using the SD version compared to the CF version.
Get the trimmed version so you can do your save states and normal saves without issues.

socket

sorry about that post, i was super crabby.  i was being kind of an asshole.

sneef

riviera works fine for me.. is the "cosby" release the "trimmed version"?  if so does that mean I can patch for saving? (cosby is the release i have)
