I came across this interesting picture of a nintendo Donkey kong handheld system from the early 80s. It has striking similarities to the current DS. I found it interesting.

They made plenty of dual screen Game & Watch systems in the early days (I happen to have the one pictured). For this reason I think the DS would be a great way to bring back some old G&W games.

i used to have loads of game & watch games
i even remember throwing a bag full out one year when i was tidying my room
there properly worth a bit of money now

Yeah,
its wuite obvious that the old game and watches were at least part of the inspiration to the ds. But not many people remeber them because they're so old, I only remeber them cos my older brother had them.
But it also means it not a suprise that they're relasing those old games on the ds in "Game and Watch Collection"
Its being given away by Japan's club nintendo, not sure if they plan on proper release though. And couldnt find any sceenies either :(

Hopefully that'll work. XD

This is what you're looking for. The first time a saw a DS I immediately remembered of the Game&Watch games including dual screen ones. I hope the make a collection for the DS.

Donkey Kong, Octopuss, Disney's Mickey and catching eggs, Snoopy Tennis,...

I saw that picture in a book I read once. The Game&Watch Donkey Kong.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

This is why I think its funny when huge sony supporting people call it the GameBoy DS.
If they had an ounce of intelligence or at the least knowledge they'd know it would be more correctly called Game&Watch DS, but I guess that type of thing is to be expected from people like that.

I'd love some old skool G & W games on the DS. Anyone speak japanese can translate? Is something in existence? Where can we get?

Anyone got any of the originals? I've got Donkey Kong I and II and also Manhole and Oil Panic!

ReRuss

yea , I'd love to get my hands on the new game and watch DS collection , but I I would have to buy a lot of stuff from Nintendo to get the points
