I know this may be a strange place for it but I figured I would start here. I'm having trouble with Xilink's iMPACT software.

I couldnt get the SuperPass2 v1 or v2 software to flash. Yes, I have the usb adapter and the parallel port plugged in(it took me a while to figure that out, the superpass2 se i got didnt come with instructions. I know for a fact the SC i got is a fake (from linker4u, i shouldve done more research, its my own fault), im wondering if the superpass is a fake too!

Anyway, this is the error when i choose to Configure the Device automatically using JTAG:

ERROR:iMPACT:585 - A problem may exist in the hardware configuration.
Check that the cable, scan chain, and power connections are intact,
that the specified scan chain configuration matches the actual hardware, and
that the power supply is adequate and delivering the correct voltage.

From there it just gets worse, but It all revolves around my inability to connect. Does anyone know of some settings that could help this? I know I must not be the only one with this problem. Is my usb underpowered maybe?

A real man does it.

If you get this error, flip the switch on the back of superpass2. its the little black thing that looks like a switch. then use the superpass software instead of going the long ass way around.

whatever it works, and i wouldnt have ever gotten here without this forum :D

This is certainly a problem with the programming switch.  If it's not set correctly or broken, you get this error with the Superpass programming software, which is definitely what you should be using.  In another thread, I discussed how I opened up the SPII, removed the switch, which was broken, and soldered a jumper for programming.
