do other exit hacks cause less slowdown?

Yes, I'm one of the n00bs posting while their supercard is in the mail.  But I've been using a fa128 for years.  I've used other exit hacks with success on that card, and cannot remember experiencing any slowdown.  (granted these were generally small 32mbit games exithacked for use in pogoshell)

I'm sure somebody has tried this already, do other hacks (that perhaps don't check for keypresses 60-times/sec) improve the slowdown a bit?  of course, if it were this simple, why wouldn't the patcher have been fixed long ago?

or is the real majority of slowdown thanks to the ram?  I've tried to be a good n00b with search, but you don't want to put "slowdown" into that box...

still seems like a good buy compared to the fa128/smc gamewallet setup that cost me twice as much.

Funny thing, i ever wondered the same, but was too afraid to ask in romman's site.
I think if firmware's source was leaked, somebody were to improve it a lot, fix the imcompatibilities and glitches.
But leaked material are bad, i'd rather have romman share the older versions to the open source comunity.
