Hi, I am new to these forums.  My problem is that I am trying to extract my battery file from my games and import them into visualboy advance.  It never works for me.  I have the SC Mini SD card, and I patch all my games to play on my SC. I have read the FAQs on saving Gba gamesaves to the SD card, but continue to be unsuccessful.  I save in the game first, then immediately do a real-time save.  I then switch off and on my system, then tab to the saver option and scroll to the save file.  I then save it to my sd card.  When I put my mini SD card in my computer,  I notice the save was not updated with a new modified date.  When I use visualboy advance to import  the save file, my vba resets itself and nothing changes.  I think the save to the sd from SC menu is not copying to my mini Sd.  What am I doing wrong and how do I get my saves to really show up on my sd card?  I really appreciate any help you can give

your doing it wrong! first save thru the game and then back it up doing a regular save by pressing L+R+SELECT+A not realtime save. realtime is only if you want a save thats a napshot and is only usable on the supercard, it allows you to save anywher and any time.

after that if you want to use the save file on your computer with visual advance, just rename the save file from .sav to .sa1 and that should do the trick.

:)   Thanks for your quick reply! I will try this later today.  So I don't have to go to the saver option in the SC menu and save to the SD card if I do the normal save option?  Will I see the .SAV file with an updated modified date before I change the file extension?  Thanks!

:( Well, I tried 2 different games, and using the method you described does not work for me.  I saved my game using the in-game method, then did L-R-A-Select and normal save.  I then reset my system and went to saver to save them to the SD card.  I then imported the battery file in Visualboy advance.  It did not pick up my saved games for either game.  What can I do or will it just not work.  I also tried renaming my save to .sa1, but visualboy did not even see this file while trying to load it.
