Dear all, I don't have Passme/Passkey. So, with new SC Software 2.41 can save NDS game or not ? Thanks

zarcon6

you will not be able to use NDS mode without a passme or flashme

Even if you had a Passme you still might not be able to save some games.  I can get Advance Wars Dual Strike to boot with Metroid in the DS slot, but the saver size is probably wrong and I can't save.  I wonder what DS cart would be needed...

damn, I thought it was 64Kb like the jap version was

Dear all, thanks for your kindly answers. But that's mean should have 2M sram size to save every NDS game right ?

zarcon6

no the size has to be the same on your cart as your rom

soooo
if you want to save in say Polarum you will need a DS game that has a save slot of 64Kb (super mario, feel the magic, ect)

but virtually, the supercard could be able to save at the CF/Sd right?

there is a way to get your saves to the supercard (see here http://supercard.blogspot.com/)
but you still need a ds game with a compatable save size to use it

Dear all, thanks again. Can you tell me how many type of NDS save. If I save in correct save type. How many games can save in 1 NDS card ? Thanks

[Jez]

3 types of save size 4k(metroid demo), 64k(mario64) and 2m(nintendogs) and I belive you can only save one game at a time unless you transfer the save off the game

sneef

yes...

you should get action replay max duo to transfer saves off the cart.  it works great.

Brian Bennett, from the supercard (official) forum, has created a program for transferring the save from ds cart eeprom to the supercard sram (allowing you to then save from sram to SD/CF card)...

but I have not been able to get the program to work properly, so i bought the action replay max.

as [Jez] said, there are three types of saves for now: 4k, 64k, and 2mbit...  here is a link to a list:  http://cubehacker.com/dsdatabase/ndssave/ndssavedb.html

Dear all, thanks a lot for your all kindly reply (^-^)

How does saving work with flashme? do you put the NDS game in the NDS slot?

sneef

yes you put the ds cart with the corresponding eeprom size (4k, 64k or 2mbit) into the ds slot.  boot into ds using flashme, and save to the cart.  you can back up your saves with the actionreplay max duo.

apparently some people are having trouble with certain DS carts combined with flashme, and have had success with passthrough devices.  I have had equal results (i.e. the nds.dsi files that didn't work with flashme ALSO did not work with my passme)
