So where is this "serious progress made on the topics of playing / patching NDS roms and saving games" that the main page speaks of?

Nothing new as of today that reading the forums won't tell you.  It's just overall as there have been huge steps taken in the last few days.

NDS Patcher was released yesterday. As posted here.

And about saving:

there is a way to get your saves to the supercard (see here http://supercard.blogspot.com/)
but you still need a ds game with a compatable save size to use it

It was simply new stuff since the last main page update.  Sorry if i got you excited.

Oh right. I knew all that stuff, that's why I got a Supercard + Superpass today.

I MSNed romman and asked if the ability to save onto the SD and the ability to load games onto the SD would be done within a week and he said that he'd try his very hardest. Which was nice of him.

^ you mean so it would have a saver patch, like the GBA games? eg, press L+R+Start+Select and jsut save it to the memory card?

Don't know, he just said he's working very hard on it.

So any other news on the4 save? It's the last big step for Romman. But I think it will be included in the patching software, because if you right-click a ds rom while into Romman's converting software you will see some greyed options that I think they are working on. So we should see the saving option in the final version of the patching software, and we will have to wait until 15 september I think.

15th of September?  That's not too long away.  Where'd you get that date from BTW?

I'd say thats about right, he'll want the saving sorted before M3 is out.

That's a probable release date.

I was right when I guessed the week Romman was going to release the patching software, and now I am assuming that he is going to release the next version of the software before  the release of M3 i.e on 20th september so he will be competitive with M3. That is how they work.

The released software is the 95% of the work, now only 5% (the saving method) remain and they have to sort it out through the software.

Well if I guess this date too it would be bingo.

Well well did you see yesterday 12th September on the official forums was the announcement of the release of the saving etc. And 2 more days for 15th september maybe I guessed this date too, but If I don't I was very accurate in guessing.
